Hi Wally, I recognise most of those names; I left in '71 so we would have been there at the same time, albeit briefly.

Craig, I think they used some premises on Marshall Street, I do remember seeing him come out of one of the old shops on there. Not sure if there was any signage, perhaps it was more for people he supplied?

I wasn't sure what forum to post this in but it seems Graham Knight, former Radio Trent DJ has passed away.
As well as being a DJ, Graham also ran the General Store in Sherwood which was a brilliant little place specialising in coffee and drinking chocolate.
He was a true gent.

This thread takes me back to the days of 8" floppy disks, Plessey mux and using Telecom Gold....

Riot you say ?
I wouldn't call that a riot, that's just plain vandalism by a few very misguided individuals.

Anybody remember Status Quo at the Palais? I think there were more people behind the bar than in the audience, I don't think more than 50 people turned up.
I thought the Ten Years After gig was ok but you're right, there were also some great bands playing at the Imperial.

I think Micky Dolenz did live at Mansfield, I'm not sure if he still does. My brother mentioned he saw Davy Jones on the QE2 a few years back so he's still performing as is Mike Nesmith. Actually saw Mike Nesmith quite a few years ago at the Trent Poly gig, some of my friends were in the support band, he was a bit of a miserable so and so.

Oops, you're right and I'm wrong. It's on Sunday and I can't amend my original post.

Not sure how many of you can remember Pinski Zoo, a jazz outfit fronted by saxophonist Jan Kopinski, who used to play at the Imperial. If you do, you might like to know they're playing at the Polish Festival on the Forest this coming Saturday - it's a free festival.
More details here, http://empp.co.uk/festival/mstage.html

Like both the Beatles and the Stones; the Stones did some really classy albums back then - thinking of let It Bleed, Beggars Banquet and Satanic Majesties.
The Beatles remasters are due for release soon, who's going to spend a fortune getting them?

Mick, as far as I know, if you're in the UK you don't need one.

Hi Frank,
it was mentioned some time ago -

They're also on Spotify if anybody wants to listen -

Sad indeed, he did look really ill towards the end; always liked Bobby Robson - a true gent by all accounts. I must admit I'd forgotten how successful he actually was with his European clubs.

Anywhere that's dry and warm - how about Jersey, not been there for a while.

Never mind the ball, I see no expense was spared on the kit!

But does anybody really care? I'll be glad when this disappears from the front pages, there are far more important issues that need addressing.

@ metal_micky
I remember the gig Barry's band played at Clarenden - it was Ian Dury's old band Kilburn and the High Roads they supported.
Home were a brilliant band, had a great guitarist called Laurie Wisefield who later joined Wishbone ash and is now doing the War of the Worlds gig.

Sorry should have explained properly - it's at the foot of the very first page (the forum home page) that lists all the forums.

I remember that so well, used to go and watch the trains here - the stationmaster, if I remember correctly, was never keen to have kids littering his platform and always chased us off. The bridge in the distance is Perry Road.

I registered and tested by logging in and out and it all works fine.

He's confirmed it on Twitter as well, I think he'll do well.
