  1. Come on gang, its the most popular type of food in Britain! Lets have some recommendations or stay away warnings

Don't eat it mesen - can't stomach the smell either - yuk. Went out on a sponsored night to the Ice Stadium a few year ago and watched the old footballers from loads of teams play off in some sort of competition.

Afterwards, the sponsor (solicitor) said, right then, we are going to the Indian on Goldsmith Street for meal. I could have died..........

I ended up having a nibble at some sort of Chicken dish which, I must say, 'lingered in the exit tract' for a few days. Never again will I step foot in an Indian restaurant for food.

That said, we are at present fixing the broken air con in the one in Tudor Square. The indoor unit in the ceiling is disgusting - full of years worth of crap - which the young 'un has to clean out he he.

One of the girls in the office looked it up on the web today and read some of the reviews - not 10/10 anyway. Nuff said.

Give me a chinese or thai anyday.

  2. Well I thought that the 'cancer gamblers' were being very considerate by stubbin' their dog ends out on the top of the bin.

After all, if they threw 'em into the bin the vagrants and 'down & outs' would have to go a rummagin'. At least this way, they can see what's on offer before they they pick 'em up.

But..................................if it rains, it'll make 'em harder to light. !laughing! smokingkills

  3. OK

The date moves from year to year, but, do you still partake?

I managed 7 before I ran out of the mixture Mrs Frank left for me (she goes out on Tuesday nights)

What is your favourite topping? Mine's sugar and freshly squeezed orange juice. My dad used to like jam and milk !hungr!

Do you ex-pats still celebrate Pancake Day?

And no comments about tossing please !laughing!

  4. my missus will happily tell you that Nottingham is her favorite British city!

Eric mate....... please tell Mary that Nottingham is an ENGLISH city.

We are not British, United, Kingdom, European, or Polish, we are ENGLISH. !englandflag!

Did you realise that you spelt CENTER the US way? English mate... Centre. Nuf said.

    P S

Hope you are buying the next time we meet in the Poacher !clapping!

  5. tourist money is very valuable in that it passes through the local economy several times.

Ask any 'Hoodie' and I'm sure they would agree - muggin' tourists is easy pickings

It is a great city to visit. It has great shopping, a very pleasant city center, and a great history.

Eric..... you have spent toooooooo much time away from this 'fair' city to make a statement like that. It may have been in times past but now... well, it's not safe to venture out after dark, and as for great shopping - don't make me laugh. It looks just like any other city, same shops, same prices, lack of choice etc, etc. and crap all over the floor - especially outside McDonalds, Bu$$er King, SubWay et al.

Using Robin Hood to promote it is a great idea - and could make the city a world class tourist destination - especially if they promote the benefits of HP!

Can't argue on this one though !laughing!

  6. Try contacting the local riding school to see who puts the horse shoes on - there must be a blacksmith somewhere.

As John says, cast iron is a funny beast and must be 'worked' by those that know how to. Hit it with a hammer and it just snaps when cold. I've only ever sucessfully bronze welded cast iron once. Has to be heated 'red hot' throughout prior to welding otherwise it cracks.

  7. Just thought I would let you know.....

I've written to the CO-OP and asked if the Divi accounts of all my family members from years ago had any positive balances.

If they have , I've asked if they could forward all outstanding balances to me. The numbers were all attached to my letter.

I'll let you know how much i get.

    Thanks folks !rotfl!
