  1. Anybody else remember spending hours in Way Ahead, on St James Street? I used to get paid on a Friday so used to get the 85 from Trent Bridge into town on the way home from work and pop into Way Ahead to get the latest singles, tshirts and gig tickets. Ironically, Way Ahead became a ticket agency, changing it's name to See Tickets and now I work for them!

  2. Born at Highbury Hospital in '71, moved to various places around Bulwell and Basford with my parents then moved to Broxtowe when I got married in '95, back to Bulwell when I got divorced in '97 (long story lol) then various places in Aspley and Strelley (apart from 2 years in Lincoln) until I moved back to Basford last month. Parents have lived off Highbury Vale for the last 20 years, sister lives round the corner near Cantrell School. Son lives in Aspley with his mum.

  3. Hi, I'm Dave, born and bred on Highbury Vale. I went to St Marys primary and junior, then to Henry Mellish from 1982 to 1987. I got a little bit addicted to the chat rooms on Compuserve, so when my dad opened the quarterly phone bill on December 28th (yes I remember the date!) my share was just over £186! Lucky I had got paid that day. Tried to limit myself to an hour a day after that.

  5. I used to live next door to Catchems in the late 80s/early 90s and was in there 2 or 3 nights a week, Chris and Margaret were good friends with my parents. I seem to remember that Chris was a Brighton fan, which caused great amusement to me (as a Notts fan) when we beat them in the 1991 play off final at Wembley. Went straight in the pub when I got back from the game to meet my parents, still wearing my Notts shirt, and got a free pint off Chris to celebrate
