  1. There was a Fords on Bracebridge drive Bilborough.it was the very end shop next to the garage.

It is now a Salvation Charity shop which has just opened...before that Nottingham City Homes used it as a housing office.

Good memories of Fords going i their when i was not even a teenager.

  2. Hi all.a year or so ago they were repairing the drains on upper parliament street if anyone can recall...they closed the path down from corals .right outside the elite building(where the bingo was many moons ago)...well i watched the workmen and there was a big hole, about 30 foot down there was a door what looked like it led to a tunnel....this could of led to the main subway under King and Queens street....i asked one of the workmen where it led but he never gave me a proper explanation........i would love to go down there but going the right way about it and approach the council...im guessing the subways would be flooded and rats everywhere........if anyone from the council reads this thread please invite me to investigate them as well as other lost passageways in my hometown of Nottingham.

Go on The Sheriff of Nottingham,Surprise me.

  3. Hi.my mum worked at the factory on glaisdale drive bilborough for eight years.

I remember when she took us to portland junior school then she went to work.sometimes she watched us from burnside green island going to school.

    This was about 1976-77ish.

The factory was where the milestone pub was which is now a gurka restuarant...next to smashing glass glazing....

This factory was used for making womens briefs.tee shirts and long johns.one side at the back had a cutting department.

Mrs parker used to be in charge.

The factory was set back i recall where the rear of the carpark is now...

I remember the pub being built when i was around 17....im 46 now...

I think it was knocked down around 1982ish

The factory in town was behind w h smith and boots broad marsh.

They also had a factory in giltbrook.

My mum also worked for foggs on stoney street.

    She is nearly 70 now.
