Agree with the end scenes of Railway Children and Coming Home, filling up just thinking about them!
Love the scene in Die Hard 2 (I think) where John (Bruce Willis) takes a fax from a female airport staff person behind a desk. She is flirting with him and he shows her his wedding ring, twiddling it on his finger, and says "just the fax ma'am, just the fax". A play on words from the phrase "just the facts ma'am" often said by the police.
Like the scene in Total Recall when the Arnie character is disguised as a woman at an airport or something similar and his speech goes all funny and his face breaks apart. Makes me laugh.

Hi
I am looking for my old friend Debbie from Bilborough. She worked as a Saturday girl at Woolworths in Clifton roughly 1974 when she was about 14. It was unusual to have a Saturday job so far from where you lived but I think it was because a of hers worked at the Clifton branch full time and she used to travel with her. Debbie and I had lots of great times and nights out when we were around 14-16. Unfortunately with my failing memory I can't remember her surname. I think she might have got a job at Bell Fruit when she left school. Does any of this ring any bells with anyone!

I know but there can't be many 14 year old girls that lived in Bilborough but had a Saturday job in Clifton!

Unfortunately I can't remember. It might have began with a C. A neighbour of hers worked at Clifton full time and they used to travel together on the Saturday. Debs and I were both 14 I think and it would have been about 1973.

Yes I think it was Boogaloo that I was thinking of as it suddenly popped into my head!
Thanks

Hi
Did anyone work at Clifton Woolies in the early or mid 70s? I am trying to trace my old friend Debs/Debbie who lived in Bilborough but worked as a Saturday girl with me there.

Hi, thanks for the replies. It could have been Roxanne but its not really jumping out at me. Does anyone remember a shop called Boogaloo? Not sure where it was.

Hi
I visited a charity shop in Hockley the other day and when I went downstairs I got serious dejvu! Think it used to be a trendy girls boutique in 1970s. Not Ice Nine, although I would be interested to be reminded what that used to be too. It was a smaller shop on one of the other corners on the same side as Ice Nine. Anyone remember either shop in the 70s?
