I'm a bit late on this topic! The Musters Hotel was a big part of my life from ca1969 through 1978. With my mate Ray, I was involved with the sound and lighting and also a DJ on the Thursday and Saturday nights. The disco just sort of happened after Rex bought the kit to provide incidental music for functions in the Ballroom. I remember all the resident comperes, but a lot of the names now escape me - Peter Lee (chose his stage name from the northern town), Roger l'Idiot (and his wife Ce), Chris Peters (I married his daughter - which was when I was instructed to retire!). There was one compere we had a custard-pie fight with - I spent all that day mixing up buckets of 'custard' in my parents' back yard. That was the same night as Freddy and the Dreamers appeared.
Oh yes, and the Sunday lunchtime talent shows; they were fun.
I've got some of the weekly programmes; must hunt them out.
