piggy and babs 544 Posted October 24, 2012 Report Share Posted October 24, 2012 i recived the sad news last week that john allen the man who was santa at the nottingham co op from 1983 untill 2000 died on tuesday last week. in todays evening post the life of john allen was published . john for many years was the barman and doorman at the whitehart and help start the biker discos in 1964 and was there till it closed in the 70salso involved in the jazz club being a big jazz fan his self. rest in peace john will be missed and remembered by many including all those children who whent to see him at the co op house grotto one of the best santas i have ever seen taking my own children and later children i worked with to see him.
