rob237 89
Sad to read about the passing of Albert Scanlon. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/manchester/8427579.stm From the Munich survivors, perhaps only Bobby Charlton and Harry Gregg are now still alive. Saw Albert play at the City Ground several times, as good a raiding winger as you'll ever see. Met him once, during his brief Field Mill days...pleasant bloke, with a sharp wit. Told me he always enjoyed playing at Forest..."nice big pitch to stretch my legs, didn't cut inside too much though - that bu99er McKinlay always stopped me in my tracks!" Cheers Robt P. firbeck 860
I worry about Bobby too, I don't think he's a well man. Wasn't Geoff Whitefoot part of the Busby Babes set up at one time.
rob237 89
Indeed he was... http://wapedia.mobi/en/Jeff_Whitefoot_%28footballer%29 Bet he thought his career was over when he went to Grimsby! One of the two survivors from the '59 FA Cup winners. Cheers Robt P.
Beefsteak 305
I saw Bobby Charlton in the flesh only about a fortnight ago (He lives about 10 miles from me) he seemed fine to me.
