  1. Smithylass, tell me your exagerating on those measurements! If not, I've got to start doing whatever it is you're doing!! The last time I had a 24 in waist was when I was 19! :(

    As for me:

    5' 10"

    Med/long Brown hair

    Blue eyes

I don't give out measurements anymore, I try to avoid knowing them myself!!

and I'm an at home Mommy living near Sacramento, California B)

(All that's for those who didn't make it to the get together, or look at the picture) :P

Speaking of pictures, does anyone have any recent ones of yourselves?

  2. sorry - didn't mean to offend you. I just hope you're one of those Americans who visit places and not one of those who 'do' places. I've met and lived with hundreds of those and it aint easy to bite your lip sometimes. Especially when you've witnessed so much unfairness in your life - you tend to tell it like it is.

Forget what I said and make sure you have a great time in Nottm when you visit next. I recommend the Laguna restaurant on Mount St

    The Actual Shedfixman

 You're forgiven, kisses all around! I understand that there's no way that you could have seen everything that is going on there given the media is the only source of information that you have. I'm 1,800 miles away, but I have several Friends in the military (my ex-husband was a marine) and law enforcement that communicate almost daily via e-mail, and let me tell you, they paint a completely different picture! I have one very good friend from Palm Springs who is a "weekend warrior" in the Navy reserves. He used to work for the sherriffs department and is now a public defender (go figure!) He is currently in Afghanistan and will be for 9 more months. You have to have respect for guys like that who willingly put their lives on hold to serve, even if it is only part time. :)

  3. Hello Ayup, thanks for that about Sacramento, I was totally unaware of that, and I've been in Old Sac several times. Now that you mention it, it did seem a little strange that the Sacramento River (which runs right along side Old Sac) sits so low to the streets and buildings. There's literally a cliff with stairways leading down to the docks, my guess is about a 50 ft. difference in elevation. I've been in this area for 5 years now, looks like I need to get out more and learn this stuff!! B)
  4. Mick, those pictured may be old, but man they've got some muscle under the hood!!(oops, I mean bonnet!!) Bonnet just doesn't sound right with good old muscle cars!! ;) I'll take the Corvette on the right, red's my color too!! By the way, when are you coming to visit us in Cali? You know you can stay here with us.

  5. I take offense to what you have said, but I, unlike you will not force my political opinion on others.

I have a friend who works for the CHP (California Highway Patrol) who was sent their almost immediately. Due to the inaccessability of the city, hundreds of rescue workers were forced to sit and wait outside of the city for the first couple of days at the location he was at.

Keep in mind this was a NATURAL disaster, not controllable by the government. I avoid politics, so please keep any political comments in the Politics forum where I don't venture.

And besides, what idiot thought to build a city below sea level, between a massive lake and one of the largest rivers, and in a tornado and hurricane prone area.

I'm sorry all, usually as you know, I am quite cheerful, but the comments made struck a nerve.

  6. Well, I'm back. Did anyone even notice I was gone? I've been home most of the summer with 3 kids all day, everyday whining about being bored, not having anything to do. :( That's funny, what about the playset, and the swimming pool, or bikes or skateboards!! Or inside there's the Playstation and the X-Box!!!

They very quickly forgot the trip to Disneyland at the beginning of the summer also!

By the way, where did all the new smilies come from. I see BIP is making good use of them!

I'm going to attempt to attach a picture of me with my youngest son at D-land. If it doesn't work, I'll e-mail it to Mick.

    TTFN!! B)

  7. My mom works in an old building that used to be a brothel in the late 1800's. In the evening, after the store has closed and nobody else is in there, sounds like the rustling of womens skirts have been heard, and one time I was with her when she opened the shop, a card rack had somehow been moved into a doorway. :o Don't know if anyone died there, but it was in the "Wild West" days, so anythings possible.

  8. It's registered as an "antique vehicle". That is the only way we can get away with it not conforming to current laws, such as the seat belt law, and the front bumper law. They do this so you have the right to keep an antique "as it was". Of course there is very little on this car that is "as it was"! It is only legal to drive on roads under that status and it is only allowed to be driven up to 4,000 miles per year. It cannot be used for anything other than for shows or pleasure drive, not for running errands, driving to work, etc. :)

  9. My husband has a 1923 Ford with a Chevy 350 in it. It's a bucket style with no doors, or hood, or fenders, or roof... Quite fun to drive though I must admit (He's only let me drive it once) Before he bought it, he took it for a test drive and got the front tires off the ground!! :o It only weighs about 1000 pounds! Scary fast!!

I'll send a picture to Mick and see if he can post it.

    Done! :D

  10. All this talk about good beer, I thought I'd throw in my 2 cents worth (er, I mean "pence")

Check out this link for our local brewery in Chico, CA. We have a keg of their pale ale on tap at all times! We have a "kegerator" built into our barbeque island, keeps the keg pressurized and refrigerated so it never goes flat! :D Needless to say, the neighbors are always coming over for a drink!! <_<

I thought about bringing a few for you guys to mull over, but then realized it would be a bit heavy to lug around. :(
