  1. People who can't punctuate, spell or construct a correct sentence should have their hands cut off and then be punched in the ass with them repeatedly.

Was that something about spelling...comuter help??? I often need help on my COMPUTER, but I don't think I even have a comuter! Now, I'll hold you down, but who's going to do the punching in the a@$!? ;)

I must say I totally agree with you though, I don't understand half of what people are trying to say! Now I hear that kids are hiding things from their parents with something called "Leet speak". It's where they encode what they're writing by replacing letters with symbols that semi resemble the letters being replaced. I won't even let my kids on the internet unless I'm watching them. Too many psychos out there!!

  2. I'm guessing late 30's, maybe 40. His mom lives in Cape Town now, and I think he has gone to live there too. When I saw him last year, he said he and his brother were trying to start up a business in Manchester and if things didn't work out, he'd be moving there too.

  3. Somewhere around the castle sounds good to me, and by all means, bring the clan!! My 3 boys will be with us! Post a response on the calendar event (July 29) and if we get more suggestions posted, we can vote on the venue.

If you're not sure how to post to the calendar, go onto the calendar page (top right corner next to Members) then scroll down to where you can choose the month, go to July, then click on the 2nd Annual Nottstalgia Meet-up link (on the 29th), and reply with a suggested venue!!

  4. horse and jockey is the pub, every road to ripley is a hill, apparantly its one of the highest towns in england. can`t wait for bip to organize a get together, love that sort of thing and meeting new friends, nottingham is fine with me.

That's it! Horse and Jockey, had lunch there, yummy! I love pub lunches.

    !hungry!

I'm not sure if Bip has taken on the job of planning the meet-up, so far nobody has posted any possible places on the calendar so...make a suggestion!!

I'm thinking around lunchtime, somewhere with outdoor seating might be good then the kids can run around, and the parents can mingle. Any ideas?

  5. My mom's friend picked us up from the train in Alfreton, and took us to stay at his fathers house in Ripley. He lives just down the hill from the town square across from a pub. (sorry, can't remember the name of the pub, Horse and Rider maybe?! I'm pretty sure it's Something and Something, that helps, huh? :Fool: )

  6. Are you planning on attending the meet-up in July? I put a post on the calendar for July 29th, if you have any suggestions for venue, reply with your suggestion.

That includes everybody, submit your suggested venues, and then maybe we can have a vote on it. smile2

  7. No pub crawl this year!! Or at least not the one I'm going to! We drink in front of our kids, but responsibly! !cheers!

If everyone wants to get drunk and stupid (which I must add, nobody did last year), then schedule a different meet-up where that's on the agenda. This one will be a kid friendly daytime event. By the way, has anyone seen anything from Mick lately, where has our leader gone?

  8. my favourite haunt was The Palais & The Bali Hai with the revolving dance floor,& I think I went to the Sherwood rooms once or twice but i'm a bit vague about that

My mom told me about the place with the revolving dance floor, I think she said it was the Astoria Ballroom, then it changed to something else? The Palais and The Sherwood Room sound familiar.

  9. Caz, I don't think these guys realize how replaceable men really are...for instance I am sitting here very happily eating a raspberry flavored chocolate truffle. Am I the slightest bit interested in men right now?! I think not!!! girlvboy If I start to show a little concern about how insensitive men can be, I'll just pop another one in my mouth! Come to think of it, this would go quite nicely with a glass of Shiraz! ;) Then again, it's only 9:45 in the morning, perhaps a little too early for the chocolates even.
