  1. Kingstons on Wilford St, and Gaggs on Alfreton Road (or Ilkeston Rd). Both still there in the early 70's when I was wrecking bikes as fast as I could mend them. Fred Bunneys rings a bell as per Scriv post. Depends what make of Bike you had I suppose. Recall Joselyns too There was also Butlers bike shop on Tamworth Road Long Eaton which did some parts. Roy Wharton's was where I bought my first ever new bike in about 1968. A curved fronted shop almost on the junction of Wilkinson St/Gauntley Street. Must have been about number 331 or 333 Radford Road. All changed now sin
  2. I seem to recall the manager at Alfreton Road was Dillon Mansbridge. He talked me into being a model for mainly Wrangler Jeans (as they fitted me well naturally off the peg). I think I also wore Ben Sherman shirts, and another brand (Possibly Levi?) with rounded collars, paisley patterns, and striped patterns of the day. Must have been around 1969, 70,71 when I appeared in various shows in church halls and Scout Headquarters. Never did make enough to afford a denim jacket! Think I was paid something like a couple of quid per show - but had to travel at my own cost, and go to the shop to collec
