on occasion where some form etc has come have with help of google translator filled it in using some obscure language, serbo croat or arabic is quite good, and in case they use similar to try to decipher it include some insulting phrase in it just to let them know they've wasted time

Not sure whether the following is actually true but when my mum was relating to me the bombing of The Old Moot Hall (Market Square/Friar Lane corner) she said the landlord of such was missing, and his body was found later inside blown out windows of shop on the opposite corner after at first being thought a blast damaged tailors dummy, quick as a flash my uncle chipped in "He'd gone for a Burtons"

To be honest I now don't know what the truth is! As mentioned I saw the Motorcycle in the Brough Vernon Road works pre 1976, I then saw the same bike later cosmetically restored (told no internal engine parts, pistons, crank etc) in the as I recall glass doored reception area of a fairly modern factory that best as I remember faced the old A610 as it dropped down from Kimberley, they may have been a small island there later, I was told that company/factory had took over Brough's, This I now realise was Bonsor Engineering, Rightly or Wrongly (I guess the latter?) I was told it was that factory that was the site of the fatalities.

I dropped a clanger earlier, mixed up the hartlepool player Mick Somer/Summer who I'd heard of with someone called Newton who was in my class and a good player, think it was he who played for York? surprised he didn't go further, a class above the rest of us!

Both those 2 were later at Claremont, Mick Summers in same class as me Alan Birchenall was a year older, thought Summers signed for York City? Birchenall had year or so at Notts County after he left Leicester

Those would be the return (down) journeys? used to see The South Yorkshireman sometimes from the field at end of Malton Rd, sometimes on New Basford Station sometimes from our garden via ex Afrika Korps binoculars liberated by my uncle, with those I could get the number (just thought, wonder what ever happened to those?) Dinner time walk home from Claremont Primary coincided with a view of it on the up line from Central Avenue , Now and then view of The Master Cutler Up and Down in school holidays too

Yes get what you're saying Bilbraborn, but if an explanation of why I can find no record of "my accident", I think the latter a bit more than a simple derailment? As mentioned a long time ago but recall the train was taking coaches into the carriage shed there and had to reverse over catch points, there was a rumour that these had been interfered with by a local youth, think 2 or 3 coaches on their sides down the embankment. recall cutting gear being used at night, think line blocked couple of days.

Hope you have a better response than when I sought "witnesses" to a derailment/crash on the former CCR Mainline just north of New Basford Station between the bridges of Haydn Rd/Perry Rd, At a guess around 60 years ago! certainly not after1957, although only a low speed/one train accident it looked quite spectacular with passenger coaches pushed down the embankment, at least the downline blocked, steam crane on site and night workings under floodlights, yet no one else seems to have seen it (or remember it) and found no reports on such?

Yes he gets all the right sounds, even the singing,also looks right, has had fair amount of bad press, accused of cashing in on the Hendrix legend but I don't see anything wrong? no more so than likes of AB/CD, KillerQueen, BritFloyd, Dark Side Of The Wall etc, even the Hendrix family endorse him!
