    Cranson

Aye up Mike Graham and Paul just got back in here, been ill for over a year now, 71 in march but not giving up yet! still got a bike only 7 years old newest I've ever had! but not say what it is, got to get a full face helmet and sunglasses before I go out on it come summer,it's on a thursday july 13th this year about 3 in the afternoon till 9pm so should be down the hart! not going to the Cadland, squadies are still looking for me after a fight there in 1970's
  2. Some will remember me, some wont, have not been well following accident, but am still alive! hope to be back here as before Ashley
  3. thank you, if I did it again I would make a far better job, that was in general pre pc days, I did it all on a word processor, I also did later pc prototypes for the story of the suburban, the GNR Watnall to Colwick and "t'up north, railways around Eastwood Kimberley Hucknall etc still have them on computer discs (if I can find them)
  4. Anyone have any idea's on how the change over from the old one to the new one was made? For a start the new one looked a fair bit higher than the old one (but that may have been an illusion) secondly the new one was built alongside but there is no deviation in the tracks to permit the new one being used, given the closeness of the Perry Rd overbridge and the North to South Rathole line joining the UP would bar any large scale track realignment? or is that what they did? I certainly don't recall and sudden kink and from Perry Rd looking north the lines were straight as an arrow
  5. Re ticket to New Zealand, my "ex" flew back there yesterday, Flew Manchester to somewhere in France, then from there to China, China to Australia, Aus to to North Island then on to South island, each time changing planes, gets there Sunday Dinner, no idea of cost but said that was cheapest way to do it
  6. Near enough Denshaw, think the actual title was The Colditz Story, when the British first arrived there The Poles were already there, one had been in Nottingham and asked Pat Reid (played by John Mills) if he'd been in there, maybe a check to see if he was British? off topic but in the book the film was based on it said The Poles all seemed to be Master Locksmiths, using keys made from fire bucket handlles, the Germans knew this, and at one time asked them to open a door having lost the key to it, which they did.
  7. Don't think I've asked this before, (though with my memory now anything is possible!) but in which famous film ( at the time) was there a conversation about the black boy hotel?
  8. Blondie, the business across the road from your shop was originally 2 firms, mayfair manufacturing who did some risque underwear outfits downstairs, and walker reid (or was it read?) who stocked similar items in their warehouse above, had a girlfriend, the love of my life who worked at the latter, lol
  9. Re the silver teapot, I used to go in there quite a bit years before the murder, had a good few old pin ball machines where you had to get rows of numbers lit up the idea being you won free plays for 3 or four in line or 4 corners etc, can't recall exact rewards, but it was possible to get to high numbers of free goes, 64 or 128 which which the cafe would (illegally?) buy back off you, guess thinking was if you were on there for hours playing them off they weren't earning money? was told by staff there the body was locked in outside toilet and chemists next door to cafe reported the smell,
  10. Re Cranson, if you get stuck a trip to the white hart abbey bridge thurs nights will get a result, if not possible I can ask some who have contact with him
  11. Most unusual reg I saw was on a Rolls Royce at the cattle market, just one number, I think it was 8, had a look at the tax disc and that too said 8 so no joke or whatever, I always fancied a private no. plate but so expensive, it's far cheaper to change your name by deed poll, Ashley YV06CYA
