  2. Hello Chubby, thanks for that.A lot of people on this forum are trying really hard to find the real location of Woodcote,I'm more determined than ever to find it now, becoming quite a mystery !. I bet it was good to meet Michael Elphick, a lot of people say he was a nice bloke.
  3. Put a few more photos online,lodge ,other driveway,stables etc......Woodcote views
  4. The photo in the Chad is wrong, thats my brother. Put some more photos online, think one is your sculpture Baz.Woodcote views
  5. Its not....Gonalston Hall,Bleasby Hall,Carlton on Trent Hall,Langford Hall,North Clifton Hall or Stapleford House (Leics).
  6. Yes, Woodcote has Lodge at the end of quite a short driveway that leads to the main doorway to the house. In one episode you see Harry Crawford's car drive in past the lodge and round to the house, all in one shot and the driveway is not very long and curves round, lined with trees. The driveway then opens out in front of the house for parking and then continues to curve away through the grounds/parkland and away presumably past the stable block seen sometimes and out onto a road through the unusual red/white barrier seen in a couple of episodes. The lodge at Woodcote has an unusual style of over
  7. After a long google trawl for agent/management details for David Daker (didn't find any) found reference to Boon on an obscure TV website. It stated, 'Woodcote Park is a country house near Nottingham'.............................very helpful.
  8. No,don't think its Woodcote. My wife agrees. She used to travel past it a lot.Don't remember it being called Cropwell Court though.Didn't use to have a golf course, used to be farm land.Again similar building style to Woodcote.Makes me think even more that Woodcote is somewhere south of the city between the Vale of Belvoir and Derby.
  9. My mistake,I was thinking of the house on the other side of the road !!!.Having a look now.
  10. Yes that would fit the description, but unfortunately its not Woodcote.I used to live near to it and used to take my wife to work past it every day.I think its called 'The Grove',similar in style but smaller than Woodcote. There used to be Highland Cattle in the grounds !. I mentioned a livestock lorry in a previous post with the name 'Elvin' on the door,I now think the address reads 'East Leake,Nottingham',doesn't help much but you never know.
  11. Here is a list of some of the production credits from the episode 'All in a days Pork'.... 12. Good work Bamber, fingers crossed.....
  13. Yes,very good Rob ! .Didn't realise there were so many Halls and big houses around here!!!
  14. Its getting beyond a joke now !.I would never have realised something that seemed so easy to find out would become so mysterious!.You would almost think everyone connected with Woodcote had taken an oath of secrecy !!!. Put the question on a couple of TV forums ,weeks ago,but had no replies at all. Radio Nottingham sounds a good idea. I've been looking at maps and Google earth for most of the East Midlands and right across to Birmingham and up to Sheffield but no luck . Looked at the episodes I've recorded for clues over and over again but nothing really stands out apart from what we've a
  15. Its not Kirklington Hall,Papplewick Hall or East Stoke Hall.
  16. Or Babbington Hall,Winkburn Hall,Quorn House,Ratcliffe on the Wreake Hall,Walton on the Wolds Manor,Brooksby Hall,Old Dalby Hall ,Beaumanor Hall,Swithland Hall,Strancliffe Hall (Barrow on Soar),Quorn Hall,Queniborough Hall,Gaddesby Hall or Shelton Hall.
  17. Or Allestree Hall,Grace Dieu Manor or Swithland Hall.
  18. Some more locations that aren't Woodcote........Morley Hall,Broomfield Hall,Radbourne Hall,Breadsall Priory,Upton Hall and Melbourne Hall.
  19. Also the distinctive gas lamps that line the driveway.House also seems to have different building styles, some windows don't match.Looks like it could be a really old hall with a Victorian extension built on.Lots of chimney stacks .Large Pine trees and ornamental gardens and hedges seen in some episodes.Still think when I turn the TV sound right up that I can hear the hum of traffic on a busy road, like a dual carriageway,on some scenes at Woodcote.
  20. Thanks Beefsteak,Bazzer and Bamber. Its really good of you to help and show so much interest.I know its a silly thing to find the location but when we all know the area pretty well it has become quite a mystery as to where it is.I've got a funny feeling that when we find out the real location we are going to be surprised(or perhaps not!). I've noticed in the episode 'Don't buy from me Argentina' they use a horsebox/livestock transporter and the company name on the cab door is 'Elvin',you can't quite read the address but it looks like a village name and then 'Nottm'.Looked in a 1989/90 Yellow p
  21. It is good reading, looked on imdb before but never found that page!!.Its odd that the listing for the episode 'Don't buy from me Argentina' doesn't give the location for Woodcote because most of that episode was filmed there. There seems to be some kind of strange cover-up about the location, god knows why though.I wonder if whoever owned the house didn't want the publicity ?,or maybe it isn't anywhere near to Notts and for some reason Central TV didn't want to let on ?.I still reckon it must be within 20 miles of Nottingham though, probably somewhere to the south of the city. In all of the scen
  22. Sounds helpful,I'll try them, thanks.
  23. Thanks for that,I never got a reply from ITV or the Nottingham Evening Post either.Rude if you ask me,even if they can't help they could at least say so.
