  1. I have been a member of this site a lot longer than you have and we have always had trivial fallouts over politics but nothing on the scale that you've brought to it. As far as I can remember we never needed a politics thread. Sorry to say this but in my opinion you have spoilt this site.

  2. Whilst that bait is still wrigging in my mouth just out of interest how many Labour M.P.'s currently standing in Parliament live in social housing? After all they represent the working man. There's one for you to research.

  3. Most of you will have noticed that I stay on line, the reason for that is so that I can read the politics thread. After all this time of the bait hanging on the end of the line I've bit. I'm a tory voter although I wouldn't vote for the present P.M. does that make me a crook, liar and everything else you call Tory's DJ360. If we all followed your line of politics we wouldn't be living in a democracy because there would be only one way to vote and that's your way.

  4. Got my jab today at the former Wickes store at Mansfield. Was on a call out so took a chance and turned up an hour early, no problem, was in and out within ten minutes. Can't fault any of the people working there, everyone deserved praise whether NHS or not.

  5. If it's dead, test and verify, if dead blank it off

If it tests live with no faults you have 3 options

    1 fit a new socket

2 terminate into a connector block and tape it up and cover with a blank plate

3 through crimp each conductor and earth ( live neutral and earth ) and this doesn't need a blank cover and can be plastered over,

All the above conforms to bs 7671.

P.S. make sure to use a voltage tester pen.

  6. I couldn't agree with you more P.B. I've always argued the hypocrisy of going into a pub and being able to rot your liver but not your lungs. As many if not more people suffer the effects of passive drinking as opposed to smoking imo, check any A & E unit at the weekend to see the aftermaths of a good night out. Having said all that there are alot of places where i agree with the ban, neither myself or swmbo have smoked in the house and i certainly wouldn't want to eat a meal surrounded by fag smoke.

  7. I'm pretty sure that the two P.H.'s on the left hand side are the Sal' and the Royal Children so that would make those two top left corner roads Hounds Gate and Castle Gate so most of the bottom half of the map would now be taken up by the Broadmarsh Shopping Centre.

  8. My money is on you never getting that double Tia Maria off PB Babs, but if I ever run into you can have one from me with pleasure. Can I also add that the reason some people don't join Nottstalgia is because they don't want to leave themselves open to ridicule and criticism off certain members who don't think they fit the criteria to be a member. If the grammar, punctuation or spelling is wrong on this post ask me if I'm bothered.

  9. My Mothers family come from Netho and i spent my childhood there, my Grandparents lived on Chandos Street and we were on Wallet Street. Two things will always stick in my mind about some of the capers we got up to. One of our little gang members Dad used to work in the slaughter house and we'd go and see him to get some chickens feet off him. We'd run up and down the Streets for hours with our sleeves pulled over our hands which were holding the feet and pulling on the tendons which would make the toes do a gripping motion and then when we got bored of that it was off to our other haunt. This was the sharp bend on Victoria Street where Chandos Street met it. There we'd stand and wait for a lorry to go around the bend full of sugar beet on its way to the sugar factory on the Colwick estate. Without fail you could gaurantee some falling off as it came by, then it was a mad dash to pick em up before they were squashed by another lorry/car. These were took home for one of our mothers to wash and cut into slices for us, its a wonder i've got any teeth left. Good times indeed.

  10. Can any of you remember a similar part-work advertised called "Build the bizmark"? Well this particular one caught my eye, "at least it'll keep me out of the pub" i said to myself trying to avoid eye contact with SWMBO who had noticed i'd gone quiet while watching the tele. Now then, 130+ issues later, £750 lighter in the pocket and god knows how many tubes of superglue later i'm still building the chuffing thing. As for keeping me out of the pub i've probably spent more time there trying to get my head around some difficult instructions then i would normally have. And another thing, i wish i'd had a pound for everytime SWMBO as said "and where do you think you're gonna put that bloody thing when you get around to finishing it, don't think its staying in here" meaning the living room. Well i wear the trousers in our house !rotfl! and i've got every intention of it staying in the living room. The thing is, its about 5ft long and she knows that i know that she's right but i'll cross that bridge when i get to it. For the time being i'll carry on lying on the bed looking at it lovingly as it rests.....yes you've got it, on top of the wardrobe lol. And another thing, its only about 50% done as well.
