[Street Information - Glencairn Drive]

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knew of any information about a street in the 1950 where my Father was born and if it was known to of been a house or some kind of Hospital. The street was Glencairn Drive, Notts (number 5) or could anyone help as to how i can find this information.

Where was the Robin Hood?

I have a feeling it changed its name to something else?

I am not familiar with Nottingham as i don't live there and with little info its difficult, however the only thing i was told was it was close to the Cathedral, does that help?

I don't live in Nottingham, so don't know the history, but wondered if anyone knew anything of a pub known as The Robin Hood and if it still stood as rumour has it that my Grandfather worked their as a chef or waiter back in the late 40's and early 50's, He was said to of been greek-cypriot.

I am looking for any information on a lady who lived with her grandparents in the 1950's known as Joy Spencer born in 1921. She lived on Shepton Crescent at number 19 while her father lived some door up at number 1, known as Walter Frearson, her mother was Annie who eventually moved to wales to be with her son. I am looking to find some information about a man who might of worked in The Robin Hood as a waiter/chef in the 1950's and was of Greek/Cypriot. She later married Bernard Fowler in 1957 at Notts Cathedral and moved to Derby. If anyone can help with any info at all about her time in Nottingham then please let me know.

[1950's Robin Hood Restaurant?]

Does anyone know if there was once a Restaurant in Notts around 1950's called The Robin Hood? I have been told that it once stood close to the Cathedral. If anyone remembers anything about this place around the 50's or maybe someone who used to work there i would be very interested to hear about it.Thx

[abt 1950's Nottingham]

Hi to all, I have been trying to find any info on my granmother who lived in Notts abt 1950, She tried every angle to cover something from the past although i have little info i was hoping there might be someone who can confirm any of these. She lived with her grandfather on shepton crescent while her father lived about 10 houses away at number 1. In the begining of 1951 she had a son, She kept the identity of his father a secret, Although the colouring of his skin would point to maybe greek cypriot, I am trying to find out about a restaurant called the robin hood where he could of worked as a head chef/waiter. I have no idea if she was married to him or anything as her name had been changed i believe several times and i am not sure on her birth name.
