  1. Brough Superior in Bulwell....I remember my Dad buying a 1952 Austin Somerset from there that lasted for years and years and years....It was like a tank to drive and I had my first ever driving lessons in it.

It makes my Mitsubishi Shogun seem like a right lightweight now!!!

I do think that Brough were fair and honest dealers though!

  2. I thought the look on the Tram drivers face was a picture, I think they did very well to make it look somewhat real life.

I reckon Peter Barlow will be gone so Nick can nick Leanne and go on to marry her....I dont think Schmichael the dog will survive either and the Tram driver is a definate gonner!!!..lol.

    Owdtite..... !rotfl!

  3. My favourite trick ?............Make out a big shopping list once a month, do a 48 mile round trip to Tesco in Wick to get said shopping. Get there and find out I have left the list at home!!!!!....Bu**er !!!!

I got there once and found out I had left my wallet at home.

Putting the sugar bowl in the fridge.

Taking the dogs to vets and forgetting their leads.

    Losing my specs.

Switching on oven but forgetting to turn the thermostat knob up from zero.

Do you want me to go on???????

Now then, whats my username again????

  4. I was broought up in Aspley but my Aunty Grace and Uncle Archie lived in Bulwell. I don't remember the address but across the road was 'Bales Ice Cream', made in a back kitchen but it must have been good if I still remember it!

I went to Springfield Junior and Infants school with their Son....Harold Bales,he was a big lad (must have been the ice cream) and his best mate at school was a wee Lad called Roger Betts....They looked like a 50's version of Little and Large. He had a sister but her name slips my mind at the moment.

    Owdtite.....

  5. It's snowing heavily now in Lerwick, sometimes I wish all this B/S about global warming was true.

Same here Oldace, its been more like a Jan/Feb morning, the dogs were excited cos they thought Winter was here. They just love the snow but I cant ever remember it snowing this much in October before.

  6. I dont think this happened in the case of the Yorkshire Ripper....As far as I now even to this day he is known as Peter Sutcliffe...Not just Sutcliffe !

But I know what you mean, how many times has a 19 year old been called a Man and then a Youth? I also believe that until they are proved guilty they call them Mr or Mrs or Ms and then that is dropped once they get found guilty!!

    Just my observations of course.

  7. Some join just to find the answer to a question, some are wind up merchants or a pain in the ass, some like to read only.

Here's to our regular readers. !congrats!

Hi Den, I am so pleased to be a Member, I hope I am not a pain in the Ass or a wind up merchant. I cant post as much as some do on here but I do my best. The site is the best find of 2010 for me.

Well done to everyone who frequents the site and the owner and the assistants.

  8. Any opinions? FreeSat offers more channels, but do I really want to watch Al Jazzera or whatever it's called or The cooking channel? and how reliable or "lasting" will will it be? Any one got a Freeview box setup in a poor reception area? if so how does it cope? asking as that little tin man coming round next week to set up a system

Why not have both Ashley, if you have a tv with built in Freeview just get a box and a dish for Freesat and you get the best of both worlds....
