  1. I did it, I cleaned my ccd sensor bit scary but its now pretty clean.

I went to a airshow & the wind was very high & as a guess i think the bayonet mount on the Nikon dosn't seal very good & within a few shots some spots appeared on the pics

but you cant see them until you view them on the computer

I bought a blower but that made it even worse.I mean really worse, To be honest i thought i would be buying a new camera sooner than i expected.

OK so down to the real way to do it , Go buy a silicone spatula & cut it down to about a little smaller than the CCD & cut the end square then take a lens cleaning wipe & double fold it & place over the end of the spat then fold the sides back at a angle & secure with a rubber band then lock up the mirror & wipe the sensor from left to right only one stroke

Then repositon the wipe to a different area on the wipe & repeat the left to right stroke remember only once dont scrub as you might scratch the surface

I had to do this 4 times before the sensor was clean enough or as near as dammit, Each time it got a little better

The way i checked was to take a picture of a white wall with the shutter set at 6 secs & keeping the camera moving in a circle while the shutter was open

As i said it was a little scary but its not a $2000 camera + there are no camera shops local , The one i did call in San Francisco wanted $80 + gas + ripoff parking + I always get lost even with Sat-nav.

Anyway even wifey said Holy cow batman you did it

Spatula $1.99 2 pack gave the other one to the wife

Lens cleaning wipes 200 pack $6

Blower $11 waste of money i learned a lesson dont blow inside a digital camera

Laggy band stole one of the dogs hair band

  2. I dont think i was ever going long enough to use CC in england it was always 0 to 90mph to 0 every few min

$ 239 to fill tank from 1/4 full , 3 times on the debit card as the pump only lets me have $100 at a time

Got tires got gas now find time to go somewhere , But wifey booked ticket to Uk today so all my plans out the window.

Beefy putting stuff on the roof knocks your petrol milage down a bunch

  3. Gilberts continued to thrive after High Pavement School moved up to Bestwood in 1955 and Forest Fields Grammar took over the Stanley Rd premises

I started at Forest Fields in September 1961 having moved to Russell Road from Elstree Drive Aspley in the sum Goose Fair, The Beatles and Notts County are never far from my thoughts.

I lived on elstree dr #81 top corner

Did you go sledging at woolaton park that year thats where i went

But could also do it down the railway bridge hill at the back of the house down to the traffic island at the bottom

  4. I read your blog & it looks like you are really having fun it looks a lot better than i remember it, I did it in the middle of winter,

I seem to remember that the Mt Rushmore rock carving was on the right hand side going down a mountain siding on the ice with my wife saying "wow look at that" & all i could do was a quick glance & back to the death grip i had on the wheel .

Maybe one day will be able to do the trip a little slower & be able to take in the views.

One thing that i did notice when we pulled in to get gas in some of the towns it was like you stepped back in time ,Old Model T's & horse & buggy's & John boy clothes.

I did get my tires put on today boy does it drive nice, Now i have to see if i have enough left to fill it up with gas.

  5. I put Firestones on the Wendy House - but they may not be available in your size. We are now 700 miles from home in Onawa, Iowa (no, I do not know how to pronounce Onawa!). If you would like to follow our adventure, Mary has set up a blog HERE. Complete with photos! Big day tomorrow - a 400+ mile drive to Deadwood, SD.

All i could find was tires called Double coin which my son nicknamed Maypops lol

Khumo, Yoka & mich in my size & i forgot i needed 9 if i replaced the spare its never been used but more than 5 years old i think i will risk it

By the way watch out for the gas stops they are a long way in between if you push your luck on the gas guage, that is kind of scary when it says next gas 125ml & you only have 1/4 tank

When i did it from Chicago to California i only had 3 days,2100 miles I do remember well the Black hills of Dakota ,Laramee & Bonneville salt flats .

Talk about Nackered i was delerius.

  6. I can diversify. (As long as I can find a good fishing lake some where!!)
