When they knocked meadows down we ended up at St Anns for awhile i went on snenton market and brought some 45 records when i got them home every one was scratched needless to say when i took em back the bloke was long gone Another time i purchased some perfume off a barra boy gave to a girlfriend who then dumped me seems she didnt appriciate the rash that came with it.   2. The point is this is another great british invention the fact that he is getting somebody to make them for twopence an hour is irrelivant because it wont be long before they are made here by a brit working for a penny an hour on a zero hour contract.

Well done to Mr Dyson he has actually invented a hand dryer that works very affectivly after years of using a hand dryer for 5 mins and then drying my hands on my trousers this new dryer is absolutly brilliant very hygenic also need them in hospitals ASP.Things that are and are not fit for purpose . ,please list.l

Is it possible that someone out there might have a photo of my Grand dad who played for notts countyat the same time as goalkeeper iremonger apparently Notts County have very few old photos i did have the one in the book and have donated it to NC but is it possible there might be others. My granddads name was George Charlesworth is local was the Cresent.

Weekends and holidays to us were a excuse to get out of the meddas always walking although occational lift when hitch hiking usually with the cooksies from next door .Half day adventure would take us into town although favourite was south and into countryside taking in canal at side of radcliffe rd through Gamston Bassingfield Tollerton Holme Pierpont before lake built back then these places where mainly farms and narrow country lanes and a source for the following Blackberries Gooseberries Apples Pears Plums Mushrooms Tomatoes these things were sometimes earnt sometimes nicked we were chased by farmers a time or two had to be careful cos me dad drove for Hovringham Gravels at Holme Pierpoint and if he caught me my ears would be ringing for a week needless to say when we got home with our booty they were always reward for our hard labour Mushrooms would usually be sold to Rosses Greengrcers corner of wilford grove and kirkwhite st .Where did you roam for your adventures.

Did anyone ever go to the NHS dentist on Chaucer St it was one of the worst places i visited as a child there was no soft music or books/toys there was a very dark building there was staff that barked at you staff that forced a mask over your face that put you to sleep when i eventually left the building iwas spitting blood clots it took 20 years to get over my phobia of dentists funny thing was in those days you were supposed to repect them in the same way you would respect your doctor and some of them hated working class kids. so many things then would be labelled abuse today.

Denshaw did you know Vince McMullen he lived on bathley st other names you might know marriots perkins rhodes wilsons simpson my mums side were crofts mums brother Johnny had havenwood constuction they built houses on estate near asda WBridgeford he also built and owned the Gateway Hotel bobbers mill.More likely to remember you when you were younger any photos around early seventies.
