  1. I saw Gene Pitney who was the opening act at the HOM, I was one of the first people to become a member, I had a table right in front of the stage. That was the first of many nights going there, saw Peter Gordino, Grumbleweeds, Frankie Howard and many more, loved it, because we used to dress up in evening dresses.
  2. I can remember going to the Gaumont boys and girls club every Saturday morning. It always started with a dance compitition, where half a dozen kids would go on to the stage usually to do the twist, you could win a tennis racket ooh! i entered once didn't win though.
  3. Anyone remember Miffy he was a bouncer at various clubs in Nottingham, always wore a long red leather coat?
  4. I remember The Heart of the Midlands. I went to the opening night to see Gene Pitney, had dinner seats at the front, later joined the members bar upstairs where you could have chicken or scampi and chips in a basket. Loved it. Can anyone remember a married couple who, with their sons played quite often? They did comedy as well as singing a variety of modern and old songs.
