Anne, I don't know what your altitude is where you live, but here at 7,000ft, the water doesn't boil as hot as in the UK, and it does make a difference with the taste of the tea.

AH there you have hit the nail on the head boiling point is a lot lower the higher you go (if you can get your hands on an old pressure, cooker boil the water in there, (Making sure the release valve works ok first) and then you will find the water boils at a much higher temperature vis a vis a good cuppa at altitude (Learnt that one on my last expadition up the Himalayas' in search of the fabled Yeti.Couldnt find any cos I heard they had all moved to Derbyshire.

Denshaw..my cousin Dave came over here..went into a corner store and asked for some fags!!!!!

He wondered why the store went quiet then they all broke out laughing.

He had no idea!!

You could be right Kath..perhaps it is the altitude..it could be our water here as well..it tastes like cxxp..they put too much junk into it before it

even reaches our taps.

Now honestly Beefsteak..do you really expect me to believe you've been to the Himalaa's searching for the Yeti.

I can believe a lot of things but this one takes the cake!!!

Mind you..I bet the Yeti could well be in Derbyshire though!!

Just how far round this big old world have you really travelled?

:Fool:

Well ..what can I say to a cuppa that size and using only one Yorkshire

teabag.

You must get your money's worth out of one box of Yorkshire teabags.

I love the 'herself' mug...is your better half Irish?

I see if has shamrocks on it.

Who bought you your mug..it's great.

Well now..if you two can have big mugs..then so can I..I'm off out to try and find one today.. begorra un bejeevers!

I'll have to have iced tea in mine though cos it's soo hot ere.

Mushy peas would fit in one very nicely don't you think..with mint sauce!

Funny you should ask that...I actually bought some dried peas yesterday to cook tomorrow.

I have a job finding dried peas usually.

So they still make Brains Faggots after all these years..

and mint sauce with your feast too!!!

Sounds great to me..enjoy them and think of me while you're scoffing em down !hungry!

They still make them but they don't taste like I remember them as a kid

I did work at Pork Farms for a long while and used to help the bloke who made their faggots at the end of my shift I know what goes in them but I still eat them

;)
