loppylugs 8,429
I mentioned this on the mobile phone thread bu thought I should start a new thread. http://www.cbc.ca/technology/story/2008/09...lhc-safety.html So, what's the thinking on this one? Will we disappear down a black hole of our own making soon? What about the ethics of conducting experiments which carry such risks? Even though "Experts" say they don't Someone once described an expert as follows. "An Ex is a has-been, and a spurt is a drip under pressure." What about spending m $4 + BILLION on such an experiment? What do ya'll think? Dave
Beefsteak 305
Well, to me, a risk of a million to one, that it could cause an implosion is too much of a risk. Nobody asked our opinion before they went ahead and spent the money on it, If the worst case scenario comes about I suppose it's going to be too late for us to argue about it But it's disgusting that this was kept from us until it's too late to do 'owt about it!!!!! loppylugs 8,429
Who said it needed fuses? I'm with you on this too Beefy. I'm no physicist, but I fail to see what useful purpose it will serve. Dave
