Russ 2
I know it's not Nottingham but it was popular with Nottingham area residents as it was on the Fosseway roughly half way between Nottingham and Leicester.Did any of you used to go ? It was in the late 70's/early 80's that I used to go with a mate of mine.In my opinion it "peaked" in the late 70's and by the early 80's deteriorated.I remember they had a resident band called Brandy who were really good. The in the other room they had a disco.I saw some famous people in there too.The actor Bill Maynard was in one night.I also saw ex-Blue Peter presenters Peter Duncan and Simon Groome.Others I saw in there were cricketers Clive Rice and Richard Hadlee. There was a pub we used to call in on the way.The name escapes me but it was a Home Ales pub in the nice Leicestershire village of Wymeswold.I assume the building is still there.Does it still have the same name and is it just a hotel ?
