rob237 89
Yet more evidence that great players make ineffective managers... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/i/ipswich_town/9346787.stm Cheers Robt P.
Ashley 288
think if still with us a certain Mr Clough would disagree, but know what you mean, my pet hate as previously mentioned is the "merry go round" of managers who having made a total balls up a club is sacked or leaves by "mutual agreement" (had it happen to me once, boss said .... off, so I never went again) then within weeks another club gives him a job! barmy! Beefsteak 305
Sorry to disagree too Rob , Messers Clough, Dalgliesh, Fergurson, Sirrel, Souness, Alladice and Wenger might dissagree too!!
rob237 89
Surely Ferguson,Sirrel,Allardyce and Wenger were not 'great' players... Cheers Robt P.

firbeck 860
I was hoping that the removal of Keane might give our old mate Charlie McParland a chance at managing what is arguably our biggest local club, unfortunately he didn't do himself any favours yesterday, big time. While we're on the subject Rob, great players don't make good captains either, lets not forget the misguided promotion of Botham to England captain during THAT Ashes series. firbeck 860
I see that Jewell has taken over at Ipswich, that's the end for Charlie no doubt, I wonder who will replace him as assistant, Ben Wariss?
