.... 23 Posted July 7, 2011 Report Share Posted July 7, 2011 Apparently the great centre forward's war-cry, Get in There! is also the title of the recently published biography on the former England number nine by erstwhile Nottingham Evening Post editor Barrie Williams and Tom Lawton jun. A week last Saturday I attended Barrie's informative talk about Tommy Lawton in one of the marquees at the Lowdham Book Festival. It was an informative and eye-opening resume of the man's glorious, yet often poignant and sad life. A rags to riches then rags again story that than mercifully ended on a positive. The story appears to be told with not a little humour too.
