Karlsruhe was twinned with Nottingham when I was at school in the 70's - don't know whether it still is. Perhaps something to do with the naming of the building

See 2nd Post re 1939 Register

But our players just don't have the skills and desire to win like most of the European teams

The 1939 Register is available on the FindMyPast website (quite like a census), so it's worth having a look at that

Is it the Car Park in Pilcher Gate? Haven't been to that area for years! Will have an elderly person with us - how far to walk? Thank you

Which Michael Holmes did you find the phone number for and for which year? I'd suggest you get that marriage certificate - might be her or might not
-
I've just looked at this too and found the same. There's a death for a Michael Douglas Holmes in Nottm in 2006 (born 1944) - could be him, but Michael D Holmes is a very common name. Think the marriage cert is needed, to confirm, or rule her out

Don't remember houses at BGS - perhaps they'd got rid of them by the time I went there. Glenbrook Juniors had the very imaginative Bue, Red, Green and Yellow - I was in Blue

Where was she born? Can't find a birth in Notts. What was her mother's maiden name? Please give all the info you know
-
How old would she have been at the time?

So sorry to hear about your Dad, mercurydancer, but what a lovely tribute you wrote to him

Yes, I saw that on 1939 Register, but there's always doubt that date was accurate. However, I think the death in 1984 must be right. There was an Administration, rather than a Will, for him so all it would give would be who the Admon was granted to. His address was 17 Dewlands Park, Verwood, Wimbourne, Dorset, he died 15 April 1984 and he left £3346

That marriage, found by David, might well be for the wrong Christopher J Adams - it's a common name! Perhaps you could get his birth cert, to establish his exact date of birth, which would help with finding his death

There's a tree on Ancestry which has Doris Buttery - details of her spouse and any children are marked Private. Might be worth contacting the person

The birth date for Doris Adams, nee Buttery was 28/8/18, according to 1939 Register. There's a death for a Doris Adams with that birth date, in Mansfield Registration district in 2005. As you can't find a death for Christopher J, perhaps he died after 2007 (latest year the online death index goes up to). There are Wills for 3 men, years of death 2011, 12 and 14, 2 with the name Christopher James, and one Christopher John. No personal details given in the Wills index though

Not an unusual occurrence by any means. Black Sheep? Not at all. I suppose Trade Directories for the right period would clear it up - if he was a landlord, he should be mentioned

Basically my Mum's tip, Chulla, which I still use. I just whack around the edge of the lid with a big spoon. It works

It's quite straightforward. I gave you information and David gave you information. With no thank you I'm not inclined to help any more
-
I didn't find out about George Ward - David did
-
A thank you might be nice
-
Can you private message me with the details from the birth certificate, please?

Records here include school admissions and give child's date of birth, so, looks as though Ruth is there, and William K
