  1. That would be another vote for two blue bricks, fine but make sure you watch your thumbs. My other half swares by DRI, Iwill hide this in case he is disillusioned. Hope the wife is doing well BIP. A crazy crazy
  2. WATCH IT, MATEY! You will get here eventually and then heaven help the rest of us... A crazy crazy
  3. Tried Sainsbury's on line shopping yesterday, what a difference. The food was very fresh, the van driver had time to explain which items were in what bag, he wasn't rushed in the slightest. There were no substitutions 'cause I didn't want any. A couple of things were listed with comments at the side explaining that the sell by date was closer than they liked but they had reduced the item accordingly, on closer inspection the date was three days hence, so not bad at all. The items had been devoured by the hungry brutes 2 hours after they had entered the house, so not a problem. Definitely
  4. Probably not of my era, angi. I suppose it is what kind of music you grew up with. My husband of 71 years still enjoys punk, Jilted John to be precise. He has been known to go head banging around the kitchen on a good day. I personelly cannot stand the racket but I always have side ache laughing at his antics. Full bore and him singing along the neighbours think we are mad. I am one step in front of them, I KNOW we are mad. Enjoy whatever music appeals to you, that is what I say... A crazy crazy
  5. I think the Dylan you refer to was Rabbit Dylan not Robert Dylan, Ilko. Did he have a good singing voice? What did he sing? A crazy Friends
  6. He is dated, Mick, because he is 'OLD' I did not say I liked all of his music, I am very selective in the type of music I listen to. I prefer classical to pop, and that takes in the music that you would call classical pop. Some of his renditions were total tripe as far as I was concerned but at the same time he was good at what he did, each time you listen to his songs you can hear something different. Lay, lady, lay, Copper kettle, and Shelter from the storm, to name but three. I listened to Donovan too, not as deep as Dylan, but good never the less. Mellow yellow, and Sunshine Supe
  7. The bit you are on about relating to substitutions is totally ignored by Tesco. I do check this box and also comment in the proper way but it doesn't seem to make that much difference. I suppose it is far easier to moan about it than praise the fact that I don't have to stand about in shops and fight to get the things on the checkout counter. The British disease, blame culture not praise culture. We will learn one of these days... A crazy crazy
  8. Any interest in this, or does nobody appreciate good music anymore? A crazy Friends
  9. I think you have that slightly wrong, don't you? A crazy crazy
  10. Has anyone any experience with shopping on-line? Take my advice and don't!! I am fed up to the back teeth of wading through endless pages of food and drink choosing the options I want to be delivered to my door to be let down by incompetence. No wonder the supermarkets are reporting record sales/profits. I order one thing and get another, even though I have stipulated no substitutions. I don't like garlic and herb bread and I certainly would not eat it in place of cheese tear and share. If I ask for two different sorts of lettuce and one is not available I do not require two of the s
  11. Nothing to do with meat or travel, when it all started the butchers shop was a pawn shop owned by a Jewish person and it made the third 'ation, Ruination. When this establishment moved he went into the pot shop mentioned in another posting. This was Simmons pot shop on the corner of the Boulevard and Denman Street. Somewhere in this area was Linneys paper shop too. A crazy crazy NB I have consulted the oracle on this...
  12. Thats not my name, I am either tutanic or Ann. A crazy crazy
  13. The pages are there to help you understand the site but they tend to confuse you. If you post anything on the first page it will appear on all pages for all to see. If you post on the Nottstalgia blog it is better if you become a member and then it is only seen by other members. Registering is easy and it then appears to be a lot clearer. I keep having a play as you can see and then it seems to become easier to understand, ok if you have time to spare. A crazy crazy
  14. The one with the monkey is the one. Her mother was called Belle. A strange faamily altogether. A crazy crazy
  15. Had an email from Bob at Notscop regarding a few things I asked him, he will look into the hut on Melbourne Road and see what he can find. Hesends his best wishes to all on site and will come and have a moan asap. A crazy crazy NB Before you have a go, I know it has been demolished so he cannot look into it but you know what I mean, He will make some enquiries...
  16. The houses you mention are known affectionately as dutch bonnet houses. If I remember on that side of the road there was a council plasterer named John, do you have any recolection of anyone on Melbourne who owned a parrot, and no he was not any relation to Long John Silver. I think her last name was Taylor. The parrot had the most suggestive laugh you have ever heard, it used to fasinate me as a youngster. I used to live on Bobbers Mill Road when I first met my other half, in the dolls houses. The other halfs first wife lived on Peters Street on Hyson Green. There was also Sheila Lees,
  17. Very good for you are those bits. Have you tried the Ace juice? the one with orange, lemon and carrot. It sounds a strange combination but is very tasty. We have four of the 2litre cartons a week. I think it is a lot better than coffee for the system and it helps with the eyesight when you have been on here tooooo long. A crazy crazy NB Is this turning into a shopping channel, or what...
  18. I am trying, honestly... Ask my husband, he will tell you, very trying. A crazy crazy
  19. I cannot remember a police station as such, the only thing I remember with regard to the police was a wooden building at the bottom of Melbourne Road, Melbourne being a sort of duel carrage way, it was at Nutthall Road end in the middle of the central reservation. This faced up Melbourne Road. I believe it came down when I was about 19/20, so that would be 1963/4. Hope this helps. A crazy crazy
  20. blog is short for weblog, it is used to define a day in the life of... Interesting and easy to use is the blog site. I have been playing with it again and I like the way it gives you a section at the bottom of each page to leave your comments. I believe this is a feature that happens when you register. It is essential that you register on the site and not just stay a visitor or you will not see the full potential of the site. OOER! get her and her jargon... A crazy crazy
  21. Have you tried Lidls cloudy lemonade, that is even burrrpier. Mix it with the radishes and heaven knows where you will end up!!! I like Lidls salami, the one with three varietys. Black pepper, cheese and herb crust. Wonderful stuff. The Lidls at Langley Mill are having a 50% off sale on some of their items so you can have twice as much burrp for the same price. A crazy crazy
  22. The only table dancing I do is under it!! A crazy crazy
  23. I will have another play later today and then I may have a go at explaining it to any one who wants to know. A crazy crazy
  24. Been and had another look at the Blog site and it is becoming clearer the more I play with it. The Nottingham Blog will not appear on all pages, it is Nottingham Blog specific which makes it good to use as you are able to ramble without the men in the yellow van coming to get you. I like it. A crazy crazy
  25. I would like to be able to have a play with it but it will not let me log in, any suggestions?? Please keep these polite. A crazy crazy
