Gr8 pics RGR.
The road rockets must have been export jobs because the Enlish A10 RR had a red and chrome tank. The 1962 or 63 I think Rocket Gold star boasted a silver and Chrome tank.
Great bikes too.I owned a 1957 model which I left behind when I migrated to Aus.
How silly was that ?9Leaving it behind not migrating) :-) it would be worth a lot of money now.

2 whole years today i quit smoking
792 days

Well done that man. !clapping!
I packed it in 2005 because I had to have major back surgery and the doc told me he wouldn't do it unless I packed in the ciggies.

Does anybody remember the Horse and Groom that used to be in a courtyard at the corner of Wheeler gate and St.Peters Gate ?
I worked there for a while in 1966.
Good pub but lousy ale.

Probably 17th century and I'd say that the guy who hung the front door was pretty pissed at the time.

Tea bags are all that are available to us, sadly....I used to get Typhoo when I lived in the UK, can't recall the brand we bought in Oz.
It would probably have been Bushells or Lan Choo.
Personally I favour Lan Choo or Twinings English Breakfast.
It must be made in a pot though.None of yer teabags fer me.

Nobody has mentioned the gravel pits at the back of Plessey in Beeston.
Also the lake at Wollaton park.
I remember seing a guy getting dragged around that lake in a small boat by what must have been a big pike.
I caught some good bream and tench there many years ago.

Ironic, FW Woolworths started in the USA and I don't think there is one single branch over here now. They were still big in Australia when I lived down there, but I think Dick Smith bought them out.
Woolworths are still going strong here in Aus.Them and Coles almost have a monopoly on grocery and variety stores. They rip us off something terrible.
Re Dick Smith. He was actually bought out by Woolworths but the stores are still trading under the Dick Smith name.
Sadly many of them are being closed down and the trade they were doing is being absorbed by Big W which is also part of the Woolworth chain.

This is my first post for a long time and I log in to find that Caz has passed away.
How sad it is for this to have happened to such a nice person
May Caz rest in eternal peace.

I haven't been here for a long time due to circumstances.
I notice that the blog section has gone down the tube since Bip departed.
Also quite a number of members have quit posting.
I was tickled by the number of (alias) Barries that were signed up.
Yes,I've been watching from the wings for some time but unable to post, again, due to circumstances.

The cops in Sydney wear almost full battledress nowadays.
They need to protect themselves as much as possible because the courts are not doing the job properly and are letting criminals roam the streets at will.
A lot of the crims are politicians as well.

Where was the tudor?
I have memories of a supermarket just passed The Slipper which might have originally been a cinema?
And in the early 70's working for the coop as an electricician, that their Bulwell shop opp Scots Grey Pub was also an old cinema?
It was just past where the supermarket was.
The entrance to the cinema was right on the corner.
That little junction used to be known as Tudor Square.

You could come to Australia but unless you have a million quid you need to get on a refugee boat from Indonesia.
Diguise yourself as an Afghan.and the government will chuck money at you and give you free housing. It just means that they will chuck one of the locals onto the street.
