  1. 5 MORE DAYS TILL CHRISTMAS. 5 MORE DAYS TILL THE BIG FAT FELLA COMES DOWN OUR CHIMNEYS, DRINKS OUR BEER, EATS OUR PIES & LEAVES US PRESENTS.. 5 MORE DAYS TILL SANTA!! ...Is everyone sorted for it? i still have 3/4 more pressents to buy!! EEEEK.. Might have to run to tesco tonight, there doing 3 for 2 on gift sets *pheww*
  2. Crime rates in netherfield keep rising and falling..A gang of teens (& older adults who should know better!) Started trying to take over the area, intimidating people, stealing cars, breaking windows.. A friend of mine was driving down victoria road and had a large stone of some sort (So they said it looked like) thrown at their car, luckily it bounced off the window instead of going through it as their 4 year old son was in the back.. They had done nothing to provoke or anything!! Iv been in a car where a hard boiled egg was thrown at it damaging the paint work... & Another friend had

  5. Just had a watch of your netherfield video.. My my how things have changed, i barely recognise any of the places!! .. Its not a memory.. or any netherfield history but did any of you guys hear about the murder that took place just off deabil street a couple of months back?? I think it was on norman street - Terrible, everyone was incredibly shocked as that estate is fairly quite i believe, i seen the police tape & everything on my walk to the shops! ... Im sure people who once lived down that end would be shocked also. Although.. Apparently its not the first murder netherfield has seen...

Then theres pete & eddy but cant remember witch ones they are. So.. with only 6 days untill christmas, is anyone listening to their christmas songs? ...I have promised myself that i wil listen to at least two christmas songs every day untill christmas eve.. then on christmas day, theyll be on all morning!! Anyone got a christmas song that allways puts them in the festive spirit?

  11. Apparently it was names 'inn for a penny' Because there was a couple of tables that where made with old pennys all over the tops of them ,an old couple were telling me all about it when i worked there, not sure if its true or not.. interesting though!
  12. Netherfield lagoons are beautiful in late summer.. Very peaceful.
  13. Ahh the good ol grey goose! .. Its recently been nocked down now, no idea what their doing with the land though, i keep expecting to see it there everytime i go up arnold lane! .. Does anyone remember the 'bikers night' at the goose?? ..Also, for 10 points, does anyone know why it was call 'inn for a penny' (Well, the story that went with the name..)
  14. ..Southwell is easly one of my favorite areas in nottingham too.. I love how old fashioned it looked, all the old buildings, houses & old cobble streets that are still there.. & the fact each pub is pretty much on another pubs doorstep, i keep meaning to have a pub crawl down there one night!

I was told a while ago by a friend whos a keen fisher (He doesnt shut up about fishing half the time *yorn* lol) that that sides notts anglers & it costs around £100 a year to fish on that side? Dont hold me to that as im not a fan of fishing & iv never been before lol - Might be worth checking out if your considdering fishing there? just incase
  16. Anyone ever got excited over a new house hold appliance? Or is it just me?? Treated myself to the new Russell hobbs easy fill iron, i LOVE it.. iv spent 3 hours ironing EVERY piece of clothing in my house lol! ..& i used to be one of those to thought Ironing was actually a swear word! So if anyone's sad enough to of shared the same excitement... What was it over?

  19. We dont have snow yet.. Seen a few statuses on facebook where so many people said it was snowing - I SEEN NO SNOW MYSELF! But its certainly too cold for my liking & in that 'storm' we had.. i have a stand alone rotary washing line.. Well, that landed in next door but ones pond! Quite awkward having to explain its mine and could i get it back please, felt like a child asking for my ball back hahaha!
  20. Awh i made some cards before but i was never sure if people would like to recieve a hand made card so i think there in a box floating about somewhere.. The rang, Again, do some good stuff for card making, all the stuff you need for it & they do little stamps with messages on for the inside Im tempted to start making them again as i did enjoy it - i know some people who sell them on ebay & give 50% of what they get for them to charity
  21. The pub that was mentioned on burton road .. Would that be what is called Inn for a penny? I used to work there! I used to be fascinated with the photos thats be hung upstairs of what the pub USED to be.. I think there used to be stables once apon a time at the back of it wich is now the beer garden. Any more memories of Gedling? i pretty much grew up in gedling..
  22. Its my first christmas with my own little family.. So christmas eve we all have a family get together, dinner and some drinks then christmas morning at home - to the rents for dinner then to the other part of my family for christmas tea! ...Then were to off to see the other halfs family on boxing day! ..Anyone got plans for NYE.. I allways try and celebrate it, then after it just feels like another night in town or at the pub .. just with a countdown to midnight lol so no idea what ill do this year - Possibley spend it at home for once with baby and partner, with a few bevvies when babys gone

Because i do a fair bit of knitting, i was given some old whooly jumpers.. i just re-used the whool for blankets The rang are good for crafty stuff, i buy my whool from there - £1.40 i think for a big ball of the stuff. I wanted to start cross stitching again, but then i seen the price of the cross stitching sets! 0_0
  24. Iv never writen a blog.. wouldnt know what to write in one if i started but its nice to know iv started a thread thats blog-worthy! ..& oooh!! Where abouts from arnold can you see belvoir? i do believe i will have to see this for myself when its next clear...i say when, very hopefully..
