    Radford Folly

    One other walk remains to be described, and that is to Radford Grove, a growing favorite as a place of amusement and recreation to the people of Nottingham.   2. From Notts TV Facebook page "The University of Nottingham have submitted a planning application to demolish John Player's Bonded Warehouse on Triumph Road. Their plans have faced backlash from the Civic Society as they aim to protect the last remaining Player's factory in the area." I love these rather brutalist buildings.
  3. Nowdays, the Plough in Radford by a country mile, and The Crafty Crow. Days gone by used to love The Wilberforce Tavern and The Stag and Pheasant.

I'm a distant relative of Albert Edward Lambert, the architect of the Victoria Railway Station (and the Midland Station) there is a Wikipedia page about him, to which I contribute, but little else on the web. A trawl through the local papers show just 3 lines given to him at the time of his death in 1929. He designed many other buildings in Nottingham, and nationwide, but seems largely forgotten.
