  1. After reading the following you may agree with my son that i am certifiable. Two days ago my daughter in law and i were talking about people contacting you after death, she is a stauch believer in this white feathers and white butterflies. Later that night sitting quietly out of the corner of my eye i saw a circle of blue light coming from a shelf that held some of Alans bits n bobs must admit it scared me, i sat looking and sometime later it happened again. Thoroughly spooked i rang my son after telling him that his dad was trying to contact me there was a silence then he burst out laughing ....on the corner of the shelf there is an air freshner that emits a circle of light before the scent. When he stopped laughing he said where do you think Dad would have got a hold of a torch with a blue light and then decide to wave it at the ceiling, tomorrow i will spend his inheritence. His parting comment was when the lads are sitting in the middle of nowhere in the dark just waiting i will tell them about you and your light.

So many come on here with a query, get a result and disappear.  The Goose Fair thread that was started by ‘Echo’ reminded me of the help she wanted getting employment for her disabled son.  Robbie helped her enormously and I believe he managed to get the lad fixed up with a job at the Whittaker stud/stables.    After that we, nor Robbie, never heard from Echo again.

I suspect that newcomers read the banter between certain members and decide (understandably) that the site is not for them.

I have said before that i "lurked" for a long time giving Alan information that i thought might interest him, he was interested in a certain topic and asked me to post.  I hesitated as Lizzie has said it all seemed rather "clanish" plus the fact that we no longer lived in Nottingham, however i took the plunge and have never regretted it. So to anyone thinking it might not be for them give us a try could be a just what you need. Gem.

  3. Today i would like to offer some advice...........when deciding to crush shells with a large hammer make sure they are not on top of a glass garden table. Even my mum was lost for words. In my defence it was a small table and shells were wrapped in a towel, not much of an excuse but its the only one i have.

  7. I have no time for either Blair or Corbyn - Blair handing out amnesty to IRA while ppl like his wife make money from charging our troops for so called "atrocities" that (only happened in the mind of fantasists)  a long time ago. Corbyn will not face veterans nor support todays servicemen. My son is a serving Marine of whom i am very proud and my late husband served through the "troubles", whether or not you agree with me i really don't care its the opinion of a soldiers wife and mother. My one and only comment on this subject.

  8. Lol....keep struggling David because I have no idea either but the actual heading for this topic is ....Help Needed.    Thank you Enigma and Catfan I will follow instructions given it will either work or the mentioned machine will end up in the scrap van.

May I also say in my defence that when on Ebay I entered singer sewing machine spares and no belts appeared.

  9. I have been gifted a singer treadle sewing machine which has no belt, I have looked on Ebay but nothing there that helps. Are they still available to buy ? or am I wasting my time, if its the latter fair enough as I have my old (1921) hand machine which I love. Also have one of the new machines which does everything but make tea, not my cup of tea.  Been out of box twice prefer the slower pace of times gone by.

  10. I now feel that i am doing the right thing, until yesterday i had always thought i was. Their cards are scan type and up to now no problems they very rarely spend more that £20 on a transaction, i appreciate your comments. Unfortunately they are still happy shoppers on line.........but its their cash they can spend it how they like. Love them both.

  11. Was chatting this afternoon with a group of people when someone mentioned that her mother had lost her purse with a lot of money inside. I said that when my mum and aunt went out they had usually about £20 in cash and £100 available on bank card, i have always stressed if somebody tries to take your bag let them they won't get much. Someone said that was terrible and i should not limit them to the amount of money they can spend as it is their money, they can buy anything they want when they want. Other people agreed with her (not my friends)  now i am wondering if i am wrong and i should not limit their money, i have never thought of it in this way before. Your thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Tell em to kerp the car then go elsewhere.

When i was looking for a new car a while ago three garages treated me as if i was unable to understand the most basic information regarding the cars i was interested in. One even asked me if i had a younger member of my family who could possibly help me understand the more technical details, if i had said what  thought proably been arrested. I ended up going back to Sunderland to a dealer that we have used before and bought a BMW 3 series lovely motor lovely service. Any other ladies on here had same problem.

  14. Tomorrow  i am flying to Northern Ireland with my daughter in law to spend a few days with her family. They live in a small town about 20mins from Belfast, hopefully this lovely weather will last. On my last visit we stayed in Belfast and went to the Titanic  and Crumlin Road Goal both very interesting this time i hope to see more galleries and exhibitions.
