  1. The HIll Crest Garage has been various businesses since car sales.

There used to be a Social club upstairs.

I think the cars sales was called Le Marinel and the servicing Hillcrest

Building is still there, just on the left after Perry Rd City bound

  2. (Drat, messed up the edit,)

Looks like that place was open in 2008 as the New Station Road Club, but dilapidated in 2012 (Google street view old views)

Might have been replaced by the Crossing Social Club (LMRCA) just down the road towards the Crossing which seems to have appeared as a new build 2015 / 16 or is that the replacement for the old one at the Retail park?

  3. Arnold Working Mens club, the empty building, is still there, but the club closed down in 2015.
I went in a couple of times and in Gedling Miners as my Father Law was at Gedling Pit.

There's still Liberal Club, Conservative Club and Labour Club.
Also Brititsh Legion and Ex Servicemens Club all in Arnold.

I suspect the rise of other venues started to attract the younger generation who would normally have frequented the old MIners / Railway / Working mens clubs.

There was also the Larger Company Clubs as well like Boots, Plessey and General Social Clubs.

  4. Got my text this morning, 4th Nov.

6 month anniversary was on the 2nd Nov.

I'd pre-empted and booked yesterday for the earliest I could get locally on the 13th Nov.

Got a text from my G.P Medical Centre this afternoon.
The earliest I can get in there is 3hrs after the appointment I've already got elsewhere.
    I'm sticking.

  5. The Daylight saving clock change was due to stop this year under Euro Legislation, todays change would have been the last.

The plan was to have 3 fixed Euro timezones GMT, GMT+1, GMT+2 running West to east.

However due to the Pandemic and internal E.U disagreements the final date has not been settled.

  6. And it's a 28 day wait after a Positive Covid test before you can have the booster (plus the 6 months from original double jabs).

It appears Booster bookings are being done via the NHS website and not Swiftqueue (unless it redirects to there) and subject to having been invited to book.
