  1. Mary 1947 I knew I was getting old when I sat outside a café watching the world go by with a coffee when I struggled to stand up. That was bad enough but a woman who was I thought elderly came across and helped me stand up. Then I knew I was OLD.

  2. I also refuse wherever possible to pay by cash for 2 main reasons, first I don't want a cashless society and also to save peoples jobs. Have you noticed how many supermarkets now have less checkouts for you to place your goods on, they want you to do it yourself, that way they employ less checkout operators and I pay by cash.

  3. Bulwell in the 60s was popular for Bestwood Estate residents to go shopping, at that time you could buy most things that you wanted.  It had a very busy Market in the centre island , how anybody never was killed by the traffic going to and from the market was surprising. I can remember having to there go with on a Saturday with my mother walking there and back carrying the shopping, Bulwell as with most has seen the decline of markets and variety of shops.

  4. Today I am feeling better, Friday evening a week ago I was at the kitchen sink taking my night time medication as I tried to swallow it ,with water as I am a wimp, suddenly it felt like I was hit in the chest with a sledge hammer and then I could not breathe. I struggled to try and breathe whilst holding my chest the pain was horrendous, I was slowly slipping down to the floor and I managed to indicate to my wife for a chair, which she placed under me before I reached the floor, thinking at the time well this is where it all ends. Did I have clean under wear on, remembering what my mother use to say lol.

The next thing  I remember was being placed on a trolley and my upper clothing taken off  by the Ambulance crew, then sensors stuck all over my upper torso also cables, needles were also liberally stuck in me. Then a ride to Hospital.  At the hospital the pain subsided but still more needles and Doctors asked so many questions and kept jabbing me with fingers.

I was finally discharged some 8 hrs later, they stated that the problem was a  massive rush of  gastric fluid and it affected the organs in my chest and I am now waiting for a camera to be put down my throat. I am fed up with Hospitals I have had more than my share of visits.

PS Just for Jill the one thing on the positive side of this event my wife has found my insurance policy , even before I arrived home.

  5. How is my day well it started off terrible, cup of coffee and sat to watch the news on the TV. TV not working so I tried all ways to see what was wrong with it with no luck. I dont trust repair engineers who come to the house, so I started looking for a new one on the internet, visit to website of the large store in Viccy centre where I purchased this one from. I looked into my purchasing history and found this broken one was 4 years 9 months old and at the bottom of the invoice it stated 5-year guarantee. What a result they will be here tomorrow. That solved into bathroom and toothbrush has no power and it will not charge, well a new one is cheaper than a TV.

So out in my truck to collect bags of sharp sand, backs up to the stack opens tailgate, a lady comes up to me and I tell her how many I required I attempted to lift one to put it into my truck. I could not even pull it near to me, very nice lady said to me let me give you the ticket then go and pay in the office. Off I go to the office and paid, came back and she had loaded 8 bags by hand. I thanked her and totally humiliated drive home and parks up and leaves it for my son to unload.

I am either going to sulk in a dark room or going to bed to hide, has my life really come to this. Tomorrow will be better, I hope.

.reports of children identifying as cats and dogs in Manx schools

The solution for the school head is easy, send the child home at the end of the day with a letter to the parents telling them the school only teaches children. Suggesting to them that as the child now thinks it is a dog and a dog trainer is the most suitable place for the child to go to, let the parents sort them out, if the child does have social and emotional needs it is up to them to arrange it. Schools with their budgets cut and work overload have neither the time , money or staff to deal with it. The child would always be welcome to attend the school again when they identify as a child.

  7. I now identify as an Independent Idiot and speak fluent Idiocy. The world has gone mad and I cannot do anything to change it, so now if I can say what I want and if I unintentionally upset anybody they cannot complain as I am now a minority.
