  1. I have had problems with getting in and out of cars, that I liked, for years , I finally had to accept my limitations and purchased a SUV. Its so much easier on your body, it may not be the car you really liked but life is so much easier on your body.

  2. A workmate use to breed rabbits and he talked the rest of the shift to have rabbit that night for the evening meal. One made us promise that we wouldn’t show them him the rabbits before they were killed and cooked. I promised that I wouldn’t. As soon as they finished the meal I walked in with a little white rabbit in my arms talking to it saying that these nasty men have just eaten your brothers and sisters. One of them was not impressed, but at that time I could run faster than him.

  3. This dog is normally well behaved but when he is bored or he wants more attention he becomes naughty such as taking cushions off of a settee or if in the garden stand over a flower with his mouth open as if he were to bite it off looking at you waiting for a response. On the few occasions he misbehaves there is a little garden water spray bottle just show it him and he hides, he hates water. Once my son came with him after a short while it started raining normally when my son opens the door to go the dog is straight out the door, he was this time but in micro seconds he was back in. Son had to drag him to the car, getting wet isnt for him.

  4. Jill yes he is very affectionate , as soon as he realised she was on the floor he came back to her and stood over her. I was worried that he would start licking her , with the amount of open wounds I was worried about infections. When we have visitors and he knows them he tries to put his front paws on their shoulders and starts kissing them, a B in L taught him that , we have to try and stop him doing it. As for a dog or cat of our own no chance , a pond with fish is more than enough for me.

  5. Margie H the dog is a Chinese Red 3 years old and it weighs more than the wife. I will find out more about the gland soon, as I have had a ? scan with a dose of radiation to show things up better. Not sure about how long it will take for the wife to heal but my wallet is suffering.

  6. Hows my day well it was going to be painful to my wallet as I have to collect my car from the repairers this afternoon, my disrespectful garage decided it was going to become narrower as I drove it in and slightly damaged the front wing of my car. So the day was off to a bad start.

My son came to visit us with his baby donkey, sorry dog, along with my wife all three of us, plus dog, sat over looking the pond with cups of tea. the wife decided she was going to walk the dog around the garden on his lead. She was told no he is too strong for you, she was adamant the dog will do what she wants him to do, he normally does, being an understanding wife who always listens to me took him for a walk.

She was told if he pulls let the lead go , off they set when the dog saw a bee, he hates them and if he catches them he eats them. Chaos ensues dog jumping up in the air wife falls on the ground , never lets go of the lead and is dragged around the gravel surrounding the pond.

After a visit to the nurse at GPs bandages from middle of upper arm to middle of forearm they pulled the skin back to where it was supposed to be and stuck it down, large dressings on shoulder and knee and antiseptic rubbed in plenty of other areas.

Back home all my fault I should have emphasised she should have let go of the lead well things can only get better, I can go and collect my car at three and pay loads of money out.

  7. My day has been spent at QMC again, I have been feeling rough for 3 weeks ,not unusual, put it down to different blood pressure tablets, then underneath my tongue was swollen up. Put up with it until I finally saw a GP on Friday, I struggled to eat or drink, she sent me straight to QMC I was seen by a Consultant and given antibiotics. Saw a different one Sunday different antibiotics ,threatened to keep in me as I was dehydrated. I escaped and saw him again today for inspection and x-ray. It appears I have a large stone in my saliva duct which is infected. Keep taking antibiotics and see you again soon. How do they get rid of the stone? I love the NHS , I really mean that, the care I received was first class, sad to see so many ambulances outside a overcrowded A+E but the speed that they saw and treated me was unbelievable.

Wait til she starts asking when you had the new carpets put down and where you've got all your new jumpers from, Rog!

That reminded me  of an incident a few years ago, my wife use to visit an elderly neighbour every day and had to take her for her eyes to be done, after taking her home she was settled down in her house and was told any problems phone us. At 6oclock next morning she was on the phone in a state, so straight around to her house , she was in a panic over what the op had done to her skin. She was adamant she never had any wrinkles before the op and look at them now.

It took my wife several hours convincing her they were there before only now she could see them

Horsa huts at school for metalwork,

I can remember Bulwell  Youth Club on Coventry Road Bulwell starting in one of these huts in the 60s, previously it was used by Highbury School. The leader was a bloke named "Spike", He used to live on site in a sectional Bungalow ,were invited to his wedding somewhere up North it had an open bar, a major mistake with young teenagers, the less said about that the better, but spike and his club were a major asset to Bulwell.

  10. Hows my day ? cold, wet and miserable. I  have just lit the fire to try and warm up my old creaking bones, I was hoping to spend time in my garage today but its even colder in there, but never mind I am sure the gaffer will find me a nice pleasant job to keep me occupied (out of her way). Aint I lucky roll on summer.

  11. Sorry to hear of your Problems Lizzie hope the situation is resolved soon . I have only had the pleasure to meet your hubby once and he was a great guy and very interesting to talk to. I will be thinking of you both in this troubling time.

    Ps

I know what you mean about the A and E department so over crowded, busy and noisy you feel better when you leave the place. Love and chips to you both.

  12. Plantfit I have a push lawn mower as in the pictures I was given it in 1975 when my grandad passed away he kept his lawns immaculate with it. Since then it has been put in the back of my different sheds every time I moved house. I tried using it once never again its too much like hard work, give me powered mowers every time.
