Phil I been to Walkers before to repair one that I use to have they had the spares in stock and fixed it for me there and then, a great firm. I was amazed by the selection in stock, I could go and visit them now I have been reminded about them.

My first instinct was an air rifle but that thought was discarded ,not by me, so after some research I have done the following. I have put some thin nails along the top of the trellis and arch then tied thin fishing line joining them together and along the length of these tied short pieces of line. The theory of this is as the bird come into land the wind is blowing the short pieces of line about and the sun is reflecting on the line blowing in the wind and it scares the bird away, you cannot see the nails and line unless you know it is there and look for it. This morning was the first day without my bucket and brush.
PS anybody have any need for metres and metres of thin fishing line.
PPS my first idea of an air rifle still appeals to me.

My garden was looking good I was pleased after the saga with my arch ,trellis and replacement decking, even the ****** pigeons really love it. Hordes of them gather on it and they are so happy on it they all leave me with little present every time they visit. Well looking on the bright side it gives me reason to go onto it every morning with a bucket of water and a brush, there and underneath the TV aerial which over hangs the patio. Anybody have a recipe for pigeons.

Bulwell a great place, I must try to go there more often, Jeromes is also my favourite place for a decent coffee and something to eat and as Ben stated the best place to people watch.

With the express permission of Mrs Trogg, I take it?

I was in mucky ucknall today having a bacon cob, black coffee and a fag afterwards watching the world go by ,with trousers, shirt no tie but proper shoes on. After a short while I lost count of the water buffalos , that word describes them perfectly, go past, dont they realise what they look like or are they not bothered. Thats male and female buffalos.

My day so far has been great, sitting on the patio having breakfast in the sun and a very pleasant temperature and breeze. Soon its going downhill fast ,its going to be very hot and unpleasant with a trip to the dentist for a check up, only to be told there is nothing wrong with my teeth and be presented with a bill for too much of my money.
PS the wife will insist I pay for her inspection as well, how will she react when I tell her it is her wedding anniversary present .

. I think they’d want a generous contribution to the Fire Brigades Charity for a ring removal. I can just imagine this big red truck coming up the drive with the blue flashing lights and men in helmets hanging off the sides!
Phil the Fire Brigade will get the ring off your wifes finger go to a Fire Station, there never used to be a charge or donation required , its what you pay your rates for.
As for the delusion if you take the ring off her finger you will be single again, no it doesn't happen. I know I tried it and still have the scars to prove it, I have been married 56 years in a few days.

Jill he does joke that when he had it diagnosed by his Consultant he was told it was to do with his brain, now he counters everyone at least he has had it confirmed by a specialist he has a brain have they.

If a problem occurs you have 2 options either you can do something about it , so no need to worry or you cannot do anything about it so again no need to worry.
My friend has recently been diagnosed with Parkinson’s, he became fed up with people giving sympathy to him, now if anyone starts on that he tells them in no uncertain way no I don’t worry about it I have more chance of be killed by being knocked down by a bus and I don’t dwell on that. I think he has a great attitude.

I watched Tinas concert on Sky Arts last night ,anybody else?. Its not the first time I have seen it but it was fantastic again, a magnificent artist and performer it brings shivers to my body. I looked for lizzie in the crowds but a few to many there, in hindsight I wish I had been there.

Simply the Best whenever I hear it played reminds me when I went to Benidorm with the "lads", where we ended up at exactly 0200hrs the live entertainment finished and on came Simply the best by Tina. Even now when I hear it I say its 2 oclock and I still receive disapproving looks and the occasional comment from the other half, great times.

Years ago I knew a man whose wife needed one but never used it as she never left the house. He went to the pub every lunch time using the scooter, as he admitted that it was the only way he could make it home. Our friendship never lasted long after I expressed my opinions to him on driving it on the pavement ,whilst plastered.

I went shopping at morrisons today and I had to use their toilets , I became confused as there was only male and female toilets. Are all of us with other genders being discriminated against or am I a stupid old s*d causing problems.

I must admit I had to have a new car battery a friend delivered me a new one, when it came to the disposal of the old one I left it at the end of my drive and next morning it had gone.

Mary replace decking? ME you must be joking , even the word sends me into cold shivers. I dont want to go near mine now as it revives memories of pain and suffering. The only time I have been on it since it was completed was when I went on it to hide from someone , but she found me and I was sentenced to vacuuming.

Phil hope your dreams come true. love it when your first thought is how you can make other people happy and not how you would spend it on yourself.

I am glad you asked about Oxengate as I had never heard of it, I thought it might be my brain failing again, so to save embarrassment ,in old Bestwood talk I kept me g*b shut.
