Sad today, first coronavirus related death on the Island.
Candles to be lit in windows all over the Isle this evening.

Peculiar laws on the IoM though. R plates for newbies yet lots of roads don't have any speed restrictions at all.
The lack of speed limits are on very few roads and even though you think you can go as fast as you like there are many charges to the unwary driver/rider of driving without due care or not driving to the present conditions. (Lots of rain, fog etc. over here).

Colly,
I'm surprised this has not been taken up in England...
Seeing an R plate on a car/bike does make you watch out for any erratic driving.

Passed my car test first time at Aspley when I was seventeen... so I thought I should take my motorbike test. Big headed sod that I was I didn't mug up on what to do and at the end of the test the examiner asked me if I had ever read the highway code. Put me in my place. It was 14 years later I tried again and passed.

At home on the Isle of Man we have had very few trick or treaters in the last few years.
I am actually in Nottingham for a few days staying in West Bridgford and from about 4:30 onwards there have been hordes of children and adults banging on doors. Its now 8:45 and there's still quite a few about. #hidingnow.

I'm more of a Bowie fan but this is superb. Sammy brings the lyrics to life...

Started making my own biscuits when I retired. Have tried versions of all my favourites, mostly anything with chocolate in or on them. Family and friends all come round more often now!

It irks me to see energy drinks cans strewn across the land. If the culprits are now fully energised, then why can't they walk to a litter bin ?
But they've probably had a couple of Macdonalds burgers with the drink so they cancel each other out!

People thinking Southgate is a good manager. At the last world cup we only won against minor teams. Croatia and Belgium were far too good tactically.
Now we get beat by the Netherlands...

I remember back in the 60's as a kid running across the M1 in the Nuthall area, always quiet in the early days of the motorway. Seem to remember crawling through pipes under the road as well?
