  1. The rewards of a privileged upbringing. It's the strategy in the pits that win the races on the Scalextric track.

The driver is secondary. The races are so predictable. I stopped watching F1 ages ago, much prefer touring car racing. At least they try to overtake, almost at all costs. Sometimes it's a free for all, especially with the junior drivers.

  2. Banda machines ! When I  was a specification clerk in the production control office at Raleigh, my job was preparing formats that fitted onto these machines. When breaking down orders for cycles, into component parts we used write out on sheets with carbon paper attached underneath,  the ' wrong way round, so an image formed on the reverse side. When completed these were checked then passed on to Banda operators to print off copies for different departments of the factory. Every component had a 7 digit code to identify it. The only one I  remember was 3880037/90 (stainless finish) or /91 (chrome finish). That was sixty years ago ! Funny what you remember.

  3. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't it off plains Road, Mapperley. Not sure if it was wells road or ransom Road.

Always remember me mum getting riled when we kids were

Playing up. She would say, "Yo kids are gonna put me bleddy  St.Annes". I think it was a hospital for people with mental problems.

  4. On my Galaxy8, the line right at the top, above the nottstalgia logo, there an info line telling what your on and in the right hand top corner there is no page icon, then the 'share' symbol then the three dots.

The only trouble is once closed, when I   re open I have to click on desk top sight every time. It won't stay on that screen.

  5. Nowadays, the so called comedians don't seem to be able to tell a joke without the need to use expletives or other lurid innuendos. There's plenty of material out there without bucket mouthing.

Hope I've not opened a tin of worms with this one !

  6. I'm not knocking the film honest. Just using that as an example. It'll be on again come Easter. It's just that the powers that be churn out the same dross every year. I mean, I ask you, Christmas day and "Homes under the hammer".

Never turned the TV off so much before. Listened to music or short stories instead.

  7. Just sitting here reflecting, what a crap time on TV., this Christmas, yet again. Nothing but endless repeats and more than an ample dose of Animation films. I suppose sticking a film on is a good filler of time. You don't have to pay any bugger when they shove those on. Last night, for example, Morcambe and Wise, the lost tapes. It was from back in 1968 and repeated every year. What's lost about that? Much as I like M & W, one can follow the script word for word. New Year don't look much better either.
