  1. I'm a Forest fan..but sad to see Nott's go out the League..hope they bounce straight back. My fear, even with a half a million parachute that quality ground is going to take some maintenance. God forbid that ground merger idea coming back to the table.

A two thirds majority, even if only decided by one vote, is more representative of opinion than a 50/50 decided by one vote.

Totally missed my point there..I remember your idea being banded about..a 66.6/33.3 starting point isn't what I consider a democracy. The referendum in political terms wasn't even close.

Whatever your opinion the people who are supposed to represent us are a disgrace.

  4. DJ360, wouldn't go as far as putting our city in a bad light..but it was a strange watch.heavily loaded activist audience ..both sides..

a smaller audience also...used to be from the Albert Hall. Haven't seen one like that since Fiona took over!

Most of us are angry and annoyed about the Brexit situation and the country is divided as much as Parliament. Without getting into  politics I think that the referendum should be rerun and decided on a decisive majority, say two thirds. With the way that the referendum was set up last time the vote could have gone either way, theoretically on just one vote.

Keeping things topical did Steve Davis get the option for a re-rack after losing the 1985 snooker final on the black ball.

Theoretically the two thirds majority can still be decided by one vote. Two bills were passed in parliament relating to this..one by one vote decided by somebody wearing a tag and the other a tie decided by Burk..how.

    both went through.

Maybe it could be done on Regions..out of the commonly accepted 12 other than Scotland, Northern Ireland & London.. the other 9 voted to leave.

    Whatever your leanings..what bleddy mess!

What is now the Roebuck used to have rolls & rolls of carpet stacked outside late 70s early 80s.

Remember the rolls of  carpet also..there was also a period with stalls selling tie dye t-shirts, & head shop paraphernalia about 1986.

I Got a Line On You... Spirit

What has that to do with Nottingham?

    Glass houses...

Thanks for showing an interest Brew..picked up this album at Selectadisc.. Bought new 1.32p..it's regarded as being original, but a second pressing. I had the opportunity to buy the original American copy..due to limited funds I passed..other titles took preference.

It's in the "OWT about Nowt"  and the topic is "Buses in Mexico" nobody said it was anything to do with Nottingham, they are very interesting posts from an owd Notts lad, answered by owd and not so owd Notts folk, hope this has explained it for you

Apologies I didn't realise that it was Owt About Nowt..after over an hour of looking at this site  finding nothing of interest, to be greeted by Mexican Buses  was underwhelming I will refrain from using the all activity feature in future.

  10. Amazed that the potential for promotion has been there for so long. Agree ..with today's results no chance. I'm not sure I agree with the play offs..good chance that the third placed team could be 20 points clear of 6th this year.

  11. Already stated my point..no reference to Nottingham or Nostalgia. Without addressing this criteria.. why post? I'm relatively new here and understand that things go off at tangents and friendships are formed but I would imagine that non Nottingham related posts are discouraging to new or potential members.

  12. Thanks DavidW & Cliff Ton..I think H&G is just to the right of the picture. Fascinating..that opening has been there for some time! I think the pub was built somewhere between 1841 & 1850. Seems to be a couple of additions on that corner about then. The place I'm looking for is Rolstons (possibly Rowlstons) Yard, Wheeler Gate and I came to the conclusion ..probably wrong that it might be there.
