Agree Fishfinger ..the picture is Beeston, first found it well over a decade ago, man in the picture looks very like my Grandfather but according to family memories he was based at Leenside.

Agree fly2 lots of artists broadcast on Paul Jones Blues show
14 hours ago, FLY2 said:Tower Records had a brilliant selection of every music genre imaginable. I got some great Blues stuff there.
The one in Birmingham was very good too, but on a much smaller scale. Had.many visits there.
Only seemed to be stocked by tower else mail order eg Alligator label.

Brilliant thread! I did look into buying a full size vintage snooker table a couple of years ago..if you are prepared to dissemble and transport yersen between about 900 - 1400 for real piece of craftsmanship and history...problem is we ain't got the space ..
Empire snooker hall I played in roughly 1973 .. think this is the one that moved to a left off manvers St..
The ex factory on the right.. the fox pub at the top off the hill.
Lovely old chap..always used a metal slide rule and sharp pencil as he at a 45 degrees meticulously marked up your 2 hour slot! Happy days!!!

Such a shame! The Oxford St branch back in the mid eighties had loads of stuff you struggled to get in nottingham. With the opening of Tower records they should have seen what was coming. . In reflection of what I have just stated..they stopped being just music shops.for me that's when my interest waned..they
started selling games

By 1982/83 it was called Zhivago's. On Tuesday's they had a rock night 10p a pint for a time carried on 12 pint crates! Well you can imagine how it tasted! Also gigs. A couple of bands I remember are Hanoi rocks and a poor quo clone called spider

Didn't know about this, according to Wikipedia 1997. Does National Express still operate from there?
