Great post Michael, If I remember correctly, St Stephens underwent renovation, in 1908.
There's a lovely pic, roughly
facing, have nailed the frontage, music teacher, fits census,
What's going on behind?

and the most expensive cover to Manufacture, all hand done, regarding pic's, plus gold leaf, I have this..an only American release?
I'm sure a read that Physical Graffiti was the most expensive to produce, obviously..much later..
The first CS&N was the one with the blotting paper cover, as you previously stated first Joni, is Textured.

Remember the occasional auction at Colwick on Sunday Morning's.
The 'Stars' of the show were listed.on the front of the auction programme.
Alway looked for the tenacious, unlucky second or third finisher.
Log book, remained in our back pocket.. despite numerous requests from the auctioneer.

It's a different game these days.
Hi Rich..
Relating to Nott's, I miss the, overly long production of the photo finish resulting in a hound that looks like a proboscis monkey and the groan that went up as the hare driver took his foot of the pedal, between the second & third bend!
Happy days!
Recall the name Dave Conway at Colwick, don't think he was the Racing Manager, was it a Father and Son team?

A good day to you,
Apologies for the amount of posts.
I find it amusing re-reading this input. Gives me an insight into my younger self.
Was there a record shop on Cardale Rd? Before my time, but think my Gran my have mentioned it.

Can somebody please explain why I now appear to be to be talking to myself. How assumptive..
Please pull my posts,

Quite a few of the 'older' blues players Oz. The two that immediately come to mind are Albert King and Otis Rush.
On a modern theme, the Amazing Eric Gales, still have tickets to see him, now over a year old!!

Some credit Elmore with popularising (or even inventing) 'slide' guitar.
Gonna' read some wiki,
Then I'll Dust My Room,
Where do you find this stuff?
Lonnie Johnston, Robert Johnson, Son House?

Jill, you say, musical ability tends to run in families, the best impression I get, you are talking genetics?
Iv'e read many a autobiography, and exposure and opportunity appear to dismiss that theory..
Gaining an influence or teacher at an early age, when practice would be less of a chore appears crucial!
Only instrument at my school was a recorder!
Did have some piano lessons, payed for by Gran when about 7. Actually proved useful!

Made a reference to a nearby 'fever" Hospital twice...zero responce...oh well.

Never got round to researching the occupation's of the resident
I will look into this, Grandads first prosection, was 1892 aged seven for pitch & toss.
Lived in the area of the bus station off Manvers St, a world away from.the Promenade!

Welcome Dawn, I recall a couple of Nott's females called Dawn, love to hear more about your blues rock memories!
What pub''s & bands do you recall?
Where did your Grandmother live?
-
When doing family genealogy, about 2007, struck me this might be where the Jobsworth's resided? 1890-1910
Police Officers, Lace factory supervisors etc made 'good'..
Never got round to researching the occupation's of the resident's..

don't get what you are saying HSR
Cant say, who's recollection, I don't read Wiki,
To attribute Pill Box, Just Like women, & Rolling stone to being about Edie, is, the best assumption I can come to...
Didn't Joe Boyd say the frst drum beat of 'Rolling Stone' was like a gavel coming down?

Loved Nibbets, weren't they made from potato? Can you still get them?
I can recall the name..were they made from corn? shaped like workman's tools? Spanners, Hammers etc..became 'sophisticated' and introduced S&V...Later?
I recall Vesta, yes, camping...
The first time I heard the word Pizza was about '71, after footy practice, mate ran home because it would be getting cold...?
Grandad always liked Camp Coffee, nobody else did! along with vista, their was another popular Indian food brand, that he liked, think that it began with a B?

I don't think even Dylan would have written such sarcasm had he known she would die a few years later aged only 28.
Don't know where you sourced your info there DJ? Over 50 year old recollections in this age, can, be, at best 'soundbites'.
There was biopic..ish, called, The Factory about a decade ago, if I remember had a few interviews with Edie at the end, could have been the Cavett show?

Correct..was thinking, 10 percent Ben Bowers !

Never a cricket player but didn't they have their own gorgeous bats?
On reflection, think those bats were Gun & Moore, did they have their own shop?
Remember Sugg sports, a SHORT Left off Shakespeare St, those bats, dominated the window display.
Did Sugg sports and Blacks (I recall on the corner) occupy the same premises?

School registers..
in Nottingham Ancestry Forum
Posted
I have often wondered about school register's and work ledger's.
Haven't been on 'find my Past' for a few year's but
read in a mag, school registers are now covered, 1870..onward..
probably fee-paying. that I suspect would already well documented...
Other ranks please..?
Does anybody know if Nottingham is included?
Looking forward to the 2021 census, personally ithink I have it sussed,
But I'm sure the 'laughing' deceased up there will have at least one surprise!
