We took our little one to the park yesterday and I remember going there as a child, it looked completely different and i was trying to explain to the other half whatit was like when I was little as he's not from around these parts of the woods, he's Arnold side. Does anyone have any photos of the park I can show him? Or any other areas of netherfield that may if changed over the years. I'm fascinated with old photos of local areas as a lot of people on the forum know.

Anyone seen/heard the news this morning about two carriages of a 30carriage frieght train derailed this morning at Carlton station/netherfield crossings. I haven't seen the damage but apparently it's caused a little chaos around netherfield. I did wake this morning as I do most mornings and heard the most horrid noise to find what the noise this morning. No ones been harmed, just shaken up.

Does anyone have any photos of chandos st, forester st, ashwel st etc areas of netherfield? Weve shared and seen plenty from deabil street end but not many or maybe none of this side. Thanks

Before I moved out of my parents house in Gedling, every now and then a chinook would fly on over. Since i moved to netherfield, it seems like a very regular thing, at least one flies over a week, quite low, I do love them though, I love the sound & what they look like so I enjoy rushing out to watch them fly over. But can anyone tell me why there's so many that go over here? Seen a couple of tanks on the loop road too on different occasions either heading towards burton Joyce or from.

Does anyone remember this family from the 1950's? I believe they lived in Dunstan Street, Netherfield but I can't find any trace of them after that. Any information much appreciated. Mandyp -
Just wondering if anyone has any photos of old gedling & netherfield? especially the gedling pits as we used to sneak up there as kids.. We found the tunnel too.. but it was too spooky down there so we never went back - to anyone whos walked down to the tunnel - how spooky does it look!?? my goodness..

I moved here about a year ago, Iv heard some 'back in the day' stories & The area sounded asif it was actually decent back then, What happend!? Theres worser areas than netherfield.. but its still not great. Iv never really had any problems myself here, but with its reputation.. i dont venture out after dark on my own if i can help it. ..Anyone got any memories of the area? Maybe some old photos? Id love to see/Hear what people have to post!

lived in netherfield as child and again after marraige left 34 years ago to live in arnold until 18months ago when my husband and i came to south africa for our retirement my husband was a skipton circus sneinton parnham and worked at trent concrete at colwick for 50 years i went to ashwell street infants and juniors and carlton girls school station road carlton and worked at the maypole shops
