Compo 10,328
Taken from a newspaper picture hence poor reproduction. This was the scene just 6 miles from my house a fortnight ago; the picture was taken by a very nice Polish gentleman who lives on teh foreshore at Sinclair Bay:
Ayupmeducks 1,730
A couple of days after the solar flare. Seen quite a few down here where I live after major solar storms, best was about seven or eight years back, it was brilliant greens and reds.
darkazana 1,736
Looks like you should be getting another showing sometime tonight or tomorrow.
Compo 10,328
No lights at all up here this week
Ayupmeducks 1,730
There was an X1 class flare, so someone should be seeing an Aurora....I've seen them this far south at 36.69 latitude. A few years back there was a flare larger than X5, was a beautiful Aurora.
darkazana 1,736
I remember seeing an Aurora over Tuxford a few years ago, didn't see anything the other night though.
Compo 10,328
It seems to depend upon teh polarity of the flare. If wrong - no aurora.
