My first and only car bingle was in 87, never forget it, It was boxing day morning, one of those sunny crisp cold days, had my twin girls in baby seats in the back of our new Fiesta and had just been to visit my mum for an early morning cuppa and decided to take the girls for a walk around Woodthorpe park to see if we could see any squirrels, mum was in the front seat with me driving.

As I approached Woodthorpe drive on Coronation road to turn right, a lady came hurtling round the corner form Woodthorpe drive and had cut the corner so hit my front offside bonnet and tore off my wing.

She then had the gall to jump out of her car and abuse me for running into her ! I was hardly moving as I had almost stopped to turn right, her old Escort was slightly worse for wear but my little Fiesta only two weeks old was a real mess.

The insurance sorted it all out in the end, my daughters remember it well too.
