mudgie49 401 Posted March 28, 2012 Report Share Posted March 28, 2012 Hi Babs,thank's for the info'on bike rental,seems expensive,but I will take a look.Pity you don't have the weather like Florida,perfect for motorcycles.You and Piggy would get a real kick at 'Daytona bike week'. Turned 'mod' in 65'going home to Beeston after a night in town,I would take Castle blv'd,University blv'd route,I had an escort of a dozen bikes surrounding my little Vespa,from middle gates along Queens road,untill I turned right at Station r'd, This was a regular occurance,and knowing most of the guys,for them a p---s take at my expence.Untill one night the 'scoot' was kicked on the right side bubble,doing around 50mph It sent me into a Vespa wobble.I retained control,turned around at the Beeston end and rode back to middle gates,pulled up in front of the guys and demanded to know who had tried to kill me. My old mates,Slim and Baz calmed me down,I knew it wasn't one of the old crowd as there was respect for each other. As a mod I still rode my Triumph during the week to and from work.
