In addition we have the original construction drawings of some of the tunnels entitled “removal of unhealthy areas”.

“Removal of unhealthy areas”. That would be what was known as the 'Rookery' The dreadful slum area forming a square from Market street to Clumber street...and south from Parliament street to the Market square.The area of the Market square in front of Debenhams known as Long Row was a perpetual bog in winter months for many years with the effluent from this sloping area until it was excavated and filled with stone in the mid eighteen hundreds.

Those tunnels under King and Queen street that you mention Stu were discussed in depth on here a few years back, you'll be surprised just how many of them there are .
