jackson 301
Katyjay, as kids we'd wear aertex vests during the Summer and then cotton ones, plus a liberty bodice over the top in Winter. Summerwear: I'd wear *short sleeved, pretty, cotton - broderie anglais - blouses with shorts or a cotton skirt; **dresses ocassionally - worn on a Sunday. As a change from the normal black and white lace-up plimsolls, casual plimsolls came in, then after a time 'ballerinas' - remember these girls? - became popular; these were black and made from a velveteeen material and had little bows at the front. Cost: 5 shillings (25p today's currency). *Cotton blouses, shorts, socks, knickers and vests were bought from Fords - well known Nottingham chain of drapers shops. **Dresses were bought from the ubiquitous C&A stores. bazza 71
am expecting "Stan" to chime in any minute! We should be so lucky. With a bit of luck we could get Den (BIP) back though. This is the second time I've posted this.I wonder if it will vanish again Baz
