I never believe or accept people who go on about "the good old days when everything was perfect, and there was no crime, and a clip round the ear solved all problems, and kids played innocently in the streets". Those times never existed, as this article demonstrates. There were yobs and violent idiots then, just like there are today. The difference is that in those times, very few people knew what went on beyond their own street, so they didn't get the endless sensational headlines from the likes of the Sun or the Daily Mail telling us that crime is worse than it used to be. 2 Quote Link to post Share on other sites
