  5. Me too I was signing off aircraft at 20 years old. I know a lot Tradesmen who cannot tackle much else except their Trade , , bragging a bit, but I have Installed several Central Heating Systems ( Except Connect the Gas ) Rewired a few Houses and had them passed Built a Loft extension single handed ( Had a Plasterer skim over ) that`s one Trade I do take my hat off to. But there are I admit dangerous Bodgers around and jobs should only be done within your capabilities.

  7. Marvellous intit what you can do if you don`t mind getting your hands mucky. I just did my Disc Brakes all round, anyone who can read " Haynes " and pick up a Screwdriver should have a go. I was talking to a Garage Mechanic once and he was so convincing with his speel I said you should have been a Solicitor !!! , He replied " Thats what I used to be " Same goes for Plumbers , had a Washer changed lately ?.

I was not reffering to ( Posh Schools ) we used to call you " Watter Rats " but such as good old Highbury in not such a salubrious area and next to a stinking Tannery, it didn`t do me much good though I failed my 11 plus .but Brother and Sister Passed for High Pavement and Mundella Cheers Danny 333 P.S. During the war as kids we could get in the Pictures with " Jam Jars " a 2 pound jar a Penny and a 1 pound 1/2 p.   19. I once caught quite a big Pike in the Leen using " State of the art equipment " ( A house brick ), I only stunned it and walking up past St Marys Church it just about jumped off my shoulder, I was with Brian Noy at the time and his mam cooked it and it tasted great !!!.

  24. The Medical Centre for the armed forces was near the Canal Bridge and it`s there where I passed for the R.A.F in 1950. Our neighbour Mr Dennison worked at Gunn & Moors making Tennis Rackets ( or repairing them maybe )
