  1. The drummer in paper lace was Philip Wright and he lived at the top of Conway street st Anns . I also lived on Conway street and went to the Elms Infant School on Cranmer st. Being a kid in st Ann's in the 50/60's was great. We had outside lav and tin bath hanging on a nail outside and newspaper to wipe your bum on.

  3. We had a Shippos Brewery off Alfred st North and it was lovely to see when they came out of brewery loaded with barrels and shire horses showing their shiny brass bridles.

Hi, I remember the brewery at the bottom of our street, off Bangor st ( Alfred st North ) when the beautiful big shire horses pulled out of brewery with their cart and all barrels on & horses were all decked out with shining brass harnesses, those were the days also the old Raywarp factory & the pork farms business ( Alfred st South )
