Thanks BK. I’ve got to print that out to put it in the shredder!

They are being investigated over the Robin Hood Energy debacle. I hope heads will roll if incompetence is discovered.

The Nottingham City Council is at risk of having to declare bankruptcy.
It has the highest level of debt to budget ratio and the second lowest level of reserves of similar sized cities. They will be looking for funding from the Government to get them out of the mess. Possibly they will also be looking towards the council tax payers as well. It looks like there could be incompetence within the the Council.

Make a few bottles of egg nog? Personally I would find it disgusting but some will enjoy it!

I’ve downloaded it and read it today. There’s a lot to get through! Having lived in the area for nearly 60 years I’ve been past and on the Burgage green many times. My old company, before my time, did consider buying and moving to the old lace factory back in the 60’s. It wasn’t viable and the factory was taken on by Rainbows, the transport firm. They now operate from Newark and there is a substantial new housing development on the site but fortunately it’s not wholly visible from the Burgage and much of the original buildings remain. Southwell police station used to be in the old buildings but that was closed some years ago.

It’s paid directly into your bank a/c the same as your state pension.

The £10 Christmas bonus was first introduced in 1972. If it were inflation proofed it would now be £134. The £10 is an insult to us senior citizens.

The problem is how are they going to get it to all the doddery old people? Not including myself of course!

Just the two of us I’m afraid. No visitors until we’ve had both injections. It’s not worth the risk now we’ve come thus far. The virus doesn’t take a break for Christmas nor for Market Square funfairs.

I’ve just seen a £10 Christmas box on my statement. The money just keeps rolling in!

I'm not sure whether we're raising or lowering the tone of this forum!

I think this winter, with social distancing and the wearing of masks in public, the chances of catching ‘flu or the common cold will generally be much less.

Here we go again!
Shakespeare - Julius Caesar. ‘The most unkindest cut of all’. -
Not to mention circumcision - so I won’t.
I do read, however, that it’s coming back into ‘fashion’.

Not still here now though is he?

I’ve flown light aircraft into continental airports and they didn’t seem to have a system for such arrivals. I’ve gone into the terminals through side doors and climbed over baggage check-ins to get to the main concourse. I’m sure systems are more rigid nowadays. It was trickier to get back to the aircraft though!

The World Health Organisation are looking at the possibility of e-vaccination certificates. You can be sure that there be some certificate of vaccination given. You will need some sort of proof to identify you and qualify you for your second vaccination. It will all become clear over the next few days. I’m sure airlines won’t let you on board without some evidence.
Edit: At present hospitals will be giving patients a card to remind them to come in for the second vaccine. Presumably after the second one there will be a more rigorous method of proof instigated.

It was the Council who permitted it on Council land so they are responsible. Mellors hoped to make some money out of it. I don’t think they were being altruistic in bringing Christmas joy to the people. The Council may be in in for a large compensation claim though but that will come from the council tax payers and not out of their own pockets.

Apparently a certificate of vaccination is to be issued so it will be up to the other party to ask for that proof.
You could possibly fabricate a false one of course.
My son used to make proof of age documents for his sister many years ago. I still have the laminating machine!

So the Christmas market will not reopen. Who's going to accept responsibility for that short lived fiasco?
-
We’ll never really know but we’re opening the floodgates for a few days over Christmas so we’ll have to see see what January brings. If the regulations weren’t relaxed some people would have ignored them anyway so you just can’t win.
How's your day?

Bit of a waste of paper really Barrie but things have got to be seen to be done and it will go in the hamster's cage.
